It looks like they're wasting no time setting up another Ultimate Team Challenge on SkyNet POGS! And it's good we have notice because next time OcUK will show us no mercy! It was only at the halfway point they kicked into gear, I don't think that will be the case next time around. We will need all the help we can get. So everybody who's interested, get ready for this one!

Start Date: January 1st, 2015 @ 00:00
End Date:  January 31st @ 23:00

That's way too soon - I think we should sit this one out.  It feels like they are taking advantage of us.  This works out to 4x a year (and 4 full months per year) at this rate.  If there were only 3 DC projects out there, it would make sense, but there are a lot more than that deserving of our focus.  They need either shorter or fewer challenges for me to participate.

    +1
Plus I think 30 days are to long for a single Challenge.
14 or 15 Days Max would work best I believe.

I'll be there but I have to agree, a month is just too long for a challenge. A week is about right, two weeks is doable, more than that and people get twitchy wanting to run something else.

    Totally agreed.
I may run a project long term, but I tend to look at it as my "Idle" project. Running it in the background as if I had nothing better to do.
When I/we go into "Challenge Mode" that's a whole different story. I give the challenge full attention, however Punchy's attention span counts for me too.
1 week is great, 2 is max.

I agree with "too long, too soon."  I will run it on a few cores while I'm tackling other projects, not all out like the last event.

I'll be in for this one... it's easy on the CPU... Might have a X-79 up and running on it's own then (3920).  Or, I'll be popping in a 12 core 4930 I think... or whatever (it's off the top of my head).

Let's just play this one... doesn't matter our placement.  Just matters we play.

Even if it's POGS, I will have problems running this with 100% attention one whole month.
I consider POGS my idle project, it's given 0% resource share, to give way for whatever I want to do.
I try to follow whatever POTM and different events during the month.
If OcUK want to see EVGA shine, they should change the challenge from dec 20 to Jan 31.
This will give us a nice 11 day hard run.
The Challenge is sat up by one of OcUK's guy's, and from what I have seen from their forum's, they seem civilized, so they might change the timing.

I was hoping that Balco Bulls would respond to our Post but he not yet replied.
14 or 15 days would work best, 30 Days is a long time to for a single Challenge.
    Good Luck Team EVGA.

7 days would work best, i think...

    Agreed !!

Agreed with you both.  Plus, if this is an annual event, shouldn't it be in October again?

    We should adress OcUK.
It would be appropriate if one of Our captains did so?
If so, it would also be ok to state Our general policy about bunkering, and why.
Not to prevent OcUK to bunker, but to spread the Word among good team's.
Running start ok, bunkering... Not ok.

I'm up for a hard run, but no more than 14 day's.

Looks like this will be the last 30 day ultimate team challenge. Hope we can give a good effort on this one, as it will probably be a throw down with uk hope to see a few there in a couple days!

Not sure I can participate in all the goings on here. Still got to get my two rigs up. Not sure I want to do a 30 day challenge and dedicate my rigs to that only. I agree with most here in that a two week or 15 day run is best. I also have the attention span of a 5(0) year old, so like Punchy, I get bored easily since I am so impatient. Would be nice to defend our title though. Need to do some research on this.

Very good description here about attention span. Counts for me too.
I think I will split cores, and do a little here and there.
Primaboinca is our POTM, and I will give this some attention, but also I'd like to take a look at the upcoming
    PrimeGrid challenge.
The PG challenge is a challenge series, that goes trough the whole year.
I missed some of the early 2014 challenges, but will try to follow them better for 2015.
Other than that, I will grind POGS as usual.

I saw their start and the lead. This is one time a 30 day challange is in our favor. We just need more cores involved from our team.

OK, I'll toss in the i5 and the i7. It will take a day or so to clear out the WCG projects and Malaria Control I have been running. Not sure I'll last out the whole 30 days. But I won't let them win without even helping out the team.

Well we do need all the help we can get on this one. We will need to pull down at least 10 Million Points a day to reach the number one Rank.

OK, I'll toss in the i5 and the i7. It will take a day or so to clear out the WCG projects and Malaria Control I have been running. Not sure I'll last out the whole 30 days. But I won't let them win without even helping out the team.

Thanks mate we can use all the help we can get. I just dusted off and fired up my i7.........

P3D was not in the contest last time.  They are a much larger team.

Punchy is correct. I doubt we can match P3D but we can still finish ahead of OcUK.
