There was a Helicopter going to try to rescue the pilots, and Syrian Rebels shot down the Helicopter with a US made TOW missile. This isn't a good thing at all. Russia isn't the bear I would suggest anyone poking, especially not at this point when everyone should be focused on the Da'esh.

Russia now sending more hardware into the area. Noteably "The Moscow" warship armed with long range SAM. They are also placing S400 missle systems that can effectively neutralize any aircraft in Southern Turkey near the border.

Yeah, things are really picking up since the Paris attacks. Your video posted on another thread I started is really something. I wouldn't want to be standing behind one of those trucks when those rockets go off.

You mean on this... https://www.facebook.com/...deos/1197717996911813/ They attack Germans soldiers during II World War with similar weapons. Only on much wider front, during 200-300km lines... Old people who lived in that time remember they start to hear them from more than 50-60km distance, in middle of night is like day... Germans soldiers who retreat in front Red Army start to shake and scream even before rockets start to fall... Many of them didn't capable on fight and resistant and finished completely crazy because of that rockets... officers didn't know what to do with them... They had complete nerves breakdown only from sound of that weapon... Because that's not like gun or rocket... When start to fall you can't escape ... destroy several blocks of buildings only with one charge... And attack usually lasts several hours constantly... Sometimes is on truck and sometimes on tank... But Russian army sacrifice many soldiers during II World War, without reason, they didn't hide at all on streets... they charge and attack on middle of street, if bomb fall kill 10 of them instead 2-3... They could finish that with much less victims. And people scream on them... Move from street Germans are there, Hide... they will shut you... Nothing like nothing happen, they go forward... Never mind other coming... if they kill us other coming. They not respect life at all. They could protect at least half of soldiers to survive, but communist don't care... Life is very cheap there.

NATO is nothing more than a rehash of The League of Nations which did NOTHING other than talk talk talk and push it's own agenda.

That's not confirmed that Turkey support ISIS, who knows what happen. Maybe they by oil from ISIS if price is much cheaper. If Turkey do that, they can't do that alone. UN only talk, because of that every dictator constantly push negotiations over UN. Because they do nothing, and in UN are several more dictators from other countries who ignore problems because they don't want one day in their country to start civil war. In mean time civilians die. Everybody who try to rescue them is aggressor. That's first rule of every dictator... You can do with own people what you want and no one can't help because immediately become aggressor in eyes of regime and other similar regimes.

I wrote an editorial in our local newspaper almost two years ago about 'why weren't we going after' the oil supply coming out of that area when I first heard that ISIS was using oil exports to fund their unholy war. Maybe the explanation above had something to do with why we waited so long, but I'm suspecting it might go deeper than that. EDIT: @ Vlada011_ The UN is being held back by conservatives in the U.S. because it sometimes interferes with our own foreign policy goals. When Putin addressed the UN a month ago he mentioned that the UN needs to stand up and start leading. I agree with that. We all have to live in this world, and it should not depend on what a few special interests want. Putin's Address to the United Nations_2015 Here is a transcript of Vladimir Putin's speech to the UN. I found it easier to read than watch it.

It has been confirmed that Turkey is supporting ISIS. Turkey arrested Journalists who exposed Turkey weapon smuggling to extremist Syrian Rebels (aka ISIS). The US knows ISIS is transporting stolen oil from Syria into Turkey. All the brand new Toyota trucks and armored 4x4 vehicles ISIS is driving around in came from US/British governments. Turkey was stupid to mess with the bear. Russia will make sure they pay 10 folds for shooting down a Russian bomber.

The West should stay completely out of the entire area. All that money could have been spent on education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Yes and should close borders. People on East are involved in wars 2000 years and they will never stop to kill each others. If countries with solid economy where Islam dominance religion close borders to their neighbors because war and don't want refugees, why then EU journalist constantly pressure everybody who want to say something or ask how many people think to enter in EU. Now after this chaos in Paris they change little opinion. That's not Turkey as Turkey only... That's NATO. OK they didn't ask nobody what to do with Russian plane but NATO will not allow to Russia do anything and I think Russia don't want to involve in bigger problem because they don't have food to give soldiers to ear after 6 months. Russia have modern weapons but on first place lot of weapons but in serious fight they will stay soon without modern technique and than they could use weapons from 60th and early 70th. OK they have almost 20.000 tanks, but 1/4 is modern probably. I expect from Russian army in Syria to show modern weapon because journalist, but behind that they will probably try to spend older equipment and supplies.

Yeah, that has to be the dumbest thing I've heard anyone doing in a long long time. I looked at the Russian version of the planes flight path and thought to myself, "Who are you kidding"? That Russian plane more than likely did cross into Turkey's airspace for a brief peroid of time but shooting it down was the last thing I would have done.

This has been the story from the beginning of civilization, and by the way, thanks for helping start civilization. We are born to look after our own self interests, but it is even more important to try looking at the whole situation and realize that we are doomed if we can't figure out how to live with each other.

Perhaps it was for a brief period of time but Turkey isn't that big of a country area wise. Then look at Russia's behavior regarding violating other countries airspace. This guy is great for that.

The US government confirmed Russia bomber was inside Syria air space when it was shot down. Russia has every right to shot down Turkey jet if it's inside Syria. Russia is the only country giving permission to be inside Syria.

Looks like Muslims really want global war with Christians. Attack their cities, shut down their planes, escape in their countries in millions and get citizens of EU and build their mosque and easy conquer Christians territory. Something must be done. But in last decades US government was mostly on side of Muslims except if they attack USA. Because of that they only get courage to attack Christians, to kidnap them and blackmail families and governments, etc...

I've been keeping my eye on the news and within the last couple of hours 'The Washington Post' and 'The New York Times' have been reporting results from an emergency meeting the EU is having about the migrant crisis, and Turkey's responsibility. The EU is offering Turkey $3B. Euros to help manage the refugee crisis, but in return Turkey must meet certain requirements that are related to Human Rights and Freedom of the Press. It's good to see the EU stepping up and putting some pressure on Turkey.
