I think this is a good move for Toyota.

Scion was always the ugliest line of vehicles they ever had so good riddance.

I never was interested in them. I really like the Rav 4, and that's why I have the 2015 Rav 4. I'm happy.       =)

Scion was always a superficial car. If you market something as trendy, it probably isn't.

So I guess the FR-S is gone and will be sold as the Toyota 86 in North America now.

Doubt it.   I should still be available as the BR-Z.

I liked a couple of their cars, the XB in particular.

There is no way Toyota just stops selling the car in North America. It will be either branded a Toyota FR-S, GT86, or something along those lines. The rest of the Scion designs will just be a part of automotive history.

In Japan it is a Toyota BB for the xB. Just like the Nissan cube, they are popular in Japan, since they are small. Scion never really had much of a place in the US though.

The cards have always existed, they only created the Scion brand for the US to appeal to the younger crowd. Toyota has always been thought of as the family/adult cars. The first US XB was a direct 1:1 import from Japan and was not really design for the American market.

Bring back the RWD 5speed Celica Coupe, hard suspension , gas/no hybrid crap, clean lines, nice and reliable, great MPG, give us back that bullet proof inline 4 with a mid-turbo, and call it a good day, and say for $20K, and nothing fancy, The FR-S anCorollas are just pos's and not worth chump change.....

just a fun clean fun daily driver, would sell, and Id just might buy a new car for once....

FR-S /86 / BRZ isn't a POS.....it just needs to come from the factory with 50-75 more hp, and performance tires not Prius tires.

For $30K I wouldnt even touch a used Lexus, Toyota needs to streamline their models and get back to old school Toyota. No reason why we cant get a great car for $20-30K thats worth buying something worth buying,

If you are talking about the FR-S, the shell is HTSS and the hood is aluminum. The bumpers are indeed plastic due to human collision requirements.

My point was, how about building us a fun, clean car for $20K, worth buying, that would also sell well. Im aware of curent collision crap, why not teach dummies how to drive vs trusting tech that can fail.....

A new, fun, clean car for $20k? Those days are gone.

That would be like my Uncle saying "I wish I could buy a Muscle car with 450hp for $3,200 factory ordered the way I like it". Those days are gone too. Now for $20k we get an ugly box with wheels.

I hate everything new. I am buying old...early to mid broken down 90's 4Runner or Cherokee and building a project diesel 4x4 with a Mercedes diesel.

I have a brand new car provided by my company that bores me to death.
