The next PrimeGrid challenge is upon us. Thursday at 2:00 pm eastern, 11:00 am pacific, running Genefer WR (world record) and Genefer short tasks on GPU's. Be aware that the WR tasks take more than 4 days to complete on a GTX 970. The short tasks take about 8-10 hours on same. Don't download any tasks until after the start time.
More info at the team thread.

ok I am in as of 6:30est 04/24/2015
I picked the short runs. I dialed back my 2 780's to stock clock speed and my 980 to stock speed. There is a disclaimer that puts a bit of fear in you, if you read it about OCing - so hopefully I can get some points through without error! I selected cl over CUDA per THE RED DISCLAIMER. Let me know if I should make a settings change.

I did the same thing and I was basically told that you'll be ok as long as your at the stock speed of the card. So whatever version of the 780's you have like FTW run them at FTW speed. Only one I've read about problems with was Kingpin or classified cards. Don't remember which.

    Thanks Zophar!
I am running an FTW 780 in the same case with an 780 SC. I feel sure I will be OK, just a CYA notice on primes part. If all goes well I will put the 980 on a long run and let it go.
The only place I have had issues with running a mild OC so far have been GPUGRID (And I feel obliged to throw bone out to Greybeard as of late - he is kicking GPUGrid like a cheap soccer ball). Total bummer to run for six hours (almost done) and then get the error message!
Hopefully more peeps will jump in to this challenge!
    Cheers!

BTW - Did you select opencl or cuda?

rs, after you run the short tasks consider switching to longs. Quick calculations tell me that you get about 20 times the credit for 12-14 times the time, based on my test runs. I may switch a 660ti or 2 over and see if they will squeeze one in.
I'm OC'd mildly (5%) on all cards except 760 with no problems. 760 is in linux and don't know how.
Thanks for jumping in. We have a good hold on 2 and place but the longs haven't started dropping yet and I get the feeling there's a lot of them out there.

That is a big bonus - I will check my time left on the first round of short runs and change it up.
    High five coming your way!
edit-ok all cards set to long - so far no errors. Thanks for the heads up!
