There was a post about this in the last few weeks and I can't find it, although I think it was for a 980Ti Hybrid. On occassion, when I start up my computer, the card and pump fans run at 100%. When I open up any program and check the temp, it shows that the card is in the high 80's range. If I let it run, it never drops as if the pump isn't working or it is reading the temperature incorrectly. I can't tell for certain if the pump is running because everything is vibrating from the fans. It is wired as directed from EVGA for the install. I don't have anything running to a MB header. It has done this across multiple drivers and with no controller installed, MSI Afternburner, and Precision X. I always do a clean install of the drivers and sweep with DDU. It is very intermittent, though, and that makes it hard to pin down. Normally, a restart fixes it. Last night, however, it took four (4) restarts to make it work. A few days ago the temperature jumped and the fans went to 100% when starting a game after utilizing the system for web browsing with no issue. That required a single restart to rectify. Any ideas? I don't know if anything was resolved in the other thread as I can no longer locate it. One of you will probably throw the link up with little effort...

How do you have the Hybrid install in your computer? The Layout of: Fans Radiator and are you Pushing or Pulling or Both? Is the Radiator Hot or warm? Is the Air coming out of the rear of the Graphics Card Hot or warm? "the card and pump fans run at 100% at start up" This is normal. PS Remember that today is a workday so most members are at work. Also it is Christmas or Holiday time too and members are taking care of what needs to be done.

It is set up as it comes. I never modified the set up so it is push and I do have the radiator above the pump/card. The problem isn't that it runs full for a few moments. It shows at 80 degrees in the time it takes me to open my monitoring programs and then never decreases. My or not was more in regard to the way that someone else always has better memory than me on this stuff and it had been 24 hours. I was mostly making a bump on the thread.

In regard to your edit, everything actually seems to feel normal as far as the temperature being emitted. It may be warmer from the card, but I can't leave it running for too long in the event that it really is pushing the temp up. I tend to think that it is simply reading it wrong, but I may not be correct in that thought process.

That is not really what I was asking. Take a Photo of the inside of your computer the shows the GPU installed and the Radiator how you have it installed.

It will down clock to cool off. How old is this card, have you broke it in so to speak and is it a new card or used card?

I don't have that. I use GPU-Z more than anything else. I will have a look at it, though.

"as if the pump isn't working" This could be true if your Radiator is Cold to the touch.

That was what I was looking for. It evolved into something different over the thread, though. Dang. bcavnaugh, I will take a picture when I have a chance. I'm not sure what difference that would make, but I will do so since you are trying to assist. And I'm a relatively early adopter of the TX. I've had the hybrid kit on for months. It has only done it a handful of times, but it is a bit disconcerting when it happens.

The AIO does do a few seconds 100% after power on (or wake from sleep) but quiets down by the time something appears on screen to almost silent. Remember the power consumption & load sitting there on windows is minimal. Unless you have some TSR (or app) running that is screwing around.

So, it did it again this evening. Everything was fine until I started up a game. Temps immediately showed at 91 degrees. Radiator is not hot and feels cool with the fan running at 100%, but the card isn't pumping hot air out either, so I don't think there is any way possible that it is actually at 90 degrees or anywhere near it. The air from the card blower is actually rather cool. Sensor? This is irritating. No new drivers, changes to the system setup, or changes in anything for that matter. It has done it more in the past week then in the past two months.

I took a chance and let it run since not pushing out hot air. After about 5 minutes, the temperature dropped and is holding at 32 degrees, which is normal in SWTOR. Card down clocked like it thought it should until temps dropped. Now functioning normally.

This may be software if temperature levels out. Eg. A delay before it speeds up the pump and fan. Using stock defaults I haven't seen such a large spike.

Except that it is showing at over 90 degrees temperature on all monitoring software. If it were just running full speed while showing a normal temperature range, I might agree. After about a minute, it slowly started dropping the temperature reading over the next four minutes and the fans dropped as they should with the temperature to fan speed curve. The card nor the radiator ever expelled 'hot' air during this entire process despite the temperature readings.

Just a thought and it may not even apply this card. I remember my GTX 580 doing something similar. If I recall it had 3 modes.. something like idle normal and gaming. For some reason it would go into gaming mode when not gaming, idle temps would go up along with fan, but would stop after a while. Also if I recall correctly I could tell this was happening by viewing the clock rates in the software. Probably not your problem but just throwing ideas around.
