 It's here!

980ti hybrid package aswell:

What is here?

Oh shoot, I'm a bit late to the party, the Titan X official cooler package was already available, judging by an earlier post on this page :P My bad.. No separate shroud though. I also wish the shroud would've been the same design as the original titan x shroud, but oh well, it's the temps that count :)

Hey,

The card can provide more than enough power for the pump and fan + stock fan. You do not lose power % usage in game neither performances. I don't think gpu's are capping pcie3.0 in term of voltage so, yeah you have enough room.

Max

EVGA advertise their ACX cooler as being lower power consumption than the reference cooler allowing more power for the GPU.

Surely the power draw of the pump and 120mm fan will be considerable and take away from that available to the GPU?

Hey,

The pump isn't that demanding + most of us plug the fan onto the motherboard for monitoring and control purposes. My score did get lower since the 980 hybrid installation. I'm not even overclocking that much. I Actually keep the boost @1375mhz core and no memory overclock. My 3d mark scores are higher than a bunch of people who have reference titan x so i think it's safe to assume the power draw from the pump has no impact on actual performances.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/02 15:33:44 (permalink)
I am looking at buying the 980Ti Hybrid but am wondering about the dimensions of the fan / radiator.  I have a HAF X case and the only available spot to mount it would be in the 3 open 5.25" bays.  The opening measures 146mm wide by 130mm tall.  I know I can buy an adapter to mount a 120mm fan in the bays.

I was wondering how big the radiator  / piping is.  I imagine I could mount it at the back of the bays with the radiator sticking into the main part of the case.

Has anyone tried mounting one of the hybrid fan / radiators like this?
Thanks

Wish EVGA would spruce up the shroud...it's kinda ugly although maybe it looks better in person.  Dont' get me wrong it wouldn't deter me from buying though.  lol

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/06 14:09:19 (permalink)
I have the GTX 980 AIO mounted on a Titan X and I have a couple of questions. I find the AIO radiator fan really loud under load and I would like to replace it with 2 PWM (or regular 3 pin) fans in Push/Pull configuration and so that I could connect them straight to the motherboard or PSU. Is that a good idea? And if so which radiator fans would you guys recommend for this purpose? And also how safe is that configuration? I am assuming that right now the radiator fan is controlled by the heat from the GPU. And if I control it manually through the motherboard (or PSU), it is possible to make it run slower than it actually should be and in result making some damage to the card? I would assume not (in the worst case the temperture will be just higher) but I wanted to make sure.
I would really appreciate the help :)

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/06 16:10:52 (permalink)
Hey,

1. Yes it is a good idea. It gives you the possibility to fine tune your fan speed curve without touching the stock vrm fan.

2. I used 2xSP120led from corsair. I run them at full speed all the time i just don't care they're so silent and it keeps my card @23c idle and 47c full load with +80hz core (110% pw target).

3. You could indeed run them slower. But to what end ? If you get good fans you'll not only improve airflow but you'll be keeping them higher than stock fan and with less noise. If this is your choice, you should not worry about damaging your gpu core. You should only look for you temps so they don't go so high in idle but even if they were @40c so what ?. Keep in mind that what is in "danger" is the vrms. So have a nice fan curve for the stock fan so it can cool vrms and capacitors as it is meant to. Having a 980hybrid on the Tx helps alot since it is the gpu core that is outputting most of the heat so if you keep it cool enough, it gives you a cooler pcb and "in-shroud" air-temps which stock cooler will benefit.

Hope this helps.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/07 02:05:45 (permalink)
Thank you very much Avenger411, it helps a lot, I appreciate it. :)

1. I have two follow up questions though: I was thinking about 2xSP120 Quiet Edition (CO-9050006-WW), would they be sufficient enough? But as far as I can tell they are only 3 pin. Do i specifically need the 4 pin ones (PWM) or is the 3 pin fine as well?

2. Last question is about the stock blower fan. You are right about the VRM cooling and I am aware of that, I have custom fan profile for that. I would like to ask though while we are on the topic. What would be the sufficient RPM % for the temps around 50-55 degrees? Right now I have it set to 50%, but it gets a little loud at that treshold as well, I wouldn't mind setting it up to 40%, but not sure if that would be safe for those temps.

Thank you again for your help :)

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/07 02:19:02 (permalink)
Hey danatiel!,

1. Yes the sp120 quiet edition are quite enough in fact these are the ones i'm using so no worries there. As for the pwm 4pin vs the dc 3pin. Since you seem to worry about the noise, i'd tell you that you dont "need" pwm. Most of the time pwm give you a little bit of extra power to the fan so more rpm but also gives you extra fine tuning capabilities which in my opinion aren't worth it in this particular case. So bottom line sp120's will do the job perfectly. That is unless you want 2 jet blowers constantly blowing in your case.. :)

2. As for the vrm/stock fan speed. I have no way to tell you which setting is the safest but i think 50% (stock fan speed) is a safe bet. I have no way of measuring heat dissipation coming from vrm and capacitors that are right beneath the stock fan so it's an educated guess at the end. Since i was worrying a little bit about it too i got the backplate which dissipates the heat more heavenly, that could be one of your options if you want to be sure. All in all, you could try 40-45% stock fan speed i don't think your vrms are going to fry but they'll be a little bit hotter. Make sure you have a nice airflow. I've been using 50% @full load with no problem since 1month and i've been playing some
Mean hours because you know... Witcher 3 :) so i guess 50% is sweet.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/06/08 07:12:54 (permalink)
I am still waiting for the Water Cooler to be in stock somewhere...it seems the consensus is to order through Amazon, then wait. But I cant seem to find the Titan X version on Amazon. Any help there?

The real question I have:
I hate the shroud that comes with the Water Cooler...And I know...that shouldn't be my main concern...but it does bother me nonetheless. What I am wondering is if someone who has already taken their card apart, can confirm if they think the stock shroud, including LED setup could be modified to fit over the EVGA W.Cooler? Any info or pics would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey,

Yes it can be done and yes it works. Someone did it in this thread. Read the thread and you'll find it. I too think it is more aestheticaly appealing but thinking about it a bit more and i came to the conclusion that it wasn't important for me. If you find the post, read and check pictures it's nice and actually easy to do. I think he used a dremmel or something.

Yes.  Been discussed many times.  You will just have a shroud for the X instead of the Ti.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I mean the bracket for pump head. I want to use corsair's AIO instead of EVGA's so I can use the 280mm radiator.

There is no pump head bracket.  It is a fixed unit that mounts directly to the PCB, unless I'm not understanding your question still.

Probably will be available soon, if you hurry you can buy SC version and later to order only cooler from Amazon or some other site.

It is a little confusing but there is a bracket that attaches to the coldplate.  The OEM Asetek or CoolIT does this so different mfgs can put their own fittings on, but if you look at the 8th pic in this link you can see the exact fitted plate, its the black frame that has screws that attach it:

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=400-HY-0990-B1

That plate screws into the holes on the GPU PCB and is really all you would need to have a perfect AIO using any of the various coolers on the market that have the same OEM fittings.  This would also allow you to use the reference cooler/shroud since the tubes come off at a 90 degree angle on something like the H70.  Someone earlier in this thread confirmed this for me and he also has pics of his own mod.  I was hoping Corsair had a similar piece for their AIO shroud, but their bracket holes are connected to the shroud/plate.
