Thank you bcavnaugh. I'll use my old photobucket account, I guess. And I used Hydro because I had modded the factory kit and didn't want to infringe on evga. I had forgotten about the Hydro series, so inadvertent infringing anyway.
Will edit the original post with the pics in a few.

Hydro and Hybrid names do not belong to EVGA.
Both are used all over, Cars, Trucks, you name it.

Hi,

I see that everyone got their own ideas how to over with 980 AIO cooler on our Titans.
This is my idea. As I am not too good with painting i decide to go just for sticker. Obviously this is just project from photoshop, but I hope I will find way to print it nice way, maybe even with this TITAN in metalic with strips. This is just project for top of the shroud, but I need to tweak this into side version as well. If EVGA is interested in this project by any way and wish to print them for your lovely customers I will with pleasure give you files for 2 sets of those stickers.

Hey Max.
For the paint I used some leftover Rustoleum textured spray paint I had from doing the interior of my HAF 932 case. No prep, just a single coat covered it. One thing I found is that EVGA has a second set of the clear plastic film over the metallic finished sections on the shroud (I had already taken off the large piece that covered the whole shroud). So this allowed me to just wait about a half hour after painting and then very carefully use a thin blade to lift up a corner on each piece of remaining film (4 per shroud) and remove them. Worked very well.
The lettering I ordered from DIYlettering.com. Cost about $30 for the lettering for both shrouds.

You may want to check out the company I used for the lettering. They offer to make vinyl self-adhesive art from any artwork you have. I believe they can do metallic lettering/art also. They'll give you a quote beforehand.

Not implying you did this, but this is the reason why you have to route the GPU fan wire similarly shown in the instructions. I am seeing people taking "shortcuts" and just routing the wire straight over to the pump instead of looping around the GPU fan. The shroud will pinch down on the fan cable unless it's routed exactly. There's only a small portion of the shroud that won't pinch after you loop it around the GPU fan going to the pump. Just look at the shroud upside down when installing and you'll see the small area it won't pinch.

Late reply...

That was the factory assembly. The front reinforcement plate was assembled with the wire pinched between it and a capacitor underneath.

You can find radiator screws on amazon also... in case my link gets auto-removed, just search for "radiator fan screws" and a few options will show up.

Do you happen to know the size needed? I was looking to do a pull/push setup.

I think they are 6-32.  Just take one into ACE and tell them you need 4 like the ones in your hand in 1.25" (or about 30mm).

EDIT:  Or buy them off the Corsair site if you can't find black ones at the local store.  Asetek makes them both anyway.

I haven't even had time to install my AIO, but I wanted to try that as well.  I am hoping to get the shroud off this weekend and see if it will fit above the LED.  I think I am going to paint the shroud that came in the kit solid black and buy myself some time to look at the reference shroud.  If you figure it out, make sure you post up some in progress pics.

Before I put AIO shroud, I took a look at Titan shroud, and my first thought was same like yours - fit hoses exact above LED.
First you can still keep LED lit  and secondly, you have to cut just lover part of this piece of shroud, which will cost you less job and still keep whole cooler "sealed for air leak", which in my opinion will help you send all hot air outside of case, which is key things for keep whole PC cooler. That was main reason why I choose EVGA AIO Hybrid cooler over others already on market, but more "air leaking" solutions. Of course I end up with putting AIO shroud as I didn't want to lose opportunity to sell whole card when I decide to upgrade.

I ended up finding an extra stock cooler for this same reason. I want to keep the led on and have the hoses come out but want the original in case I sell it later on. I'll try to work on it this weekend and will definitely post pics when I do.

If the hoses will fit in a slot above the LED, it will barely fit.  I may pick up an extra cooler and give it a shot.

After installation with the stock kit, I have yet to push above 45 degrees.  D3 and some of the benchmarks are all I have been able to run thus far.  I will play some more intense games this weekend to test.  So far I am very pleased with it.  It is not even as loud as my Jet-Flo case fans.

hey all, I have a 980 Hybrid, been installed for 3 days now. I put another 120m/m fan on it for push/pull. I have an old case which I absolutely love. its a Coollermaster Cosmos Pure ( the Cosmos series case, all Black, has noise dampening foam on both side panels  ). again, it has only been 3 days but working nice, regular web surfing temp hovers at 27-28 C.
under load, gets up to 34C. I haven't been playing many games yet, letting this thing settle and working it slowly for now.
Grabbed it from Newegg and was able to get the 2 free games, sweet. Hoping in the near future to check out the VR (virtual reality) gaming. since you will need at least a GTX970 min according to Occulos Rift. But I am going to wait for the one that will be released by Steam, cant remember name at the moment.
But I also want to get ready for Direct X 12. For a monitor, I am using my 80 inch Vizio 3D TV, and it is sweet for gaming lol.

Rather than sticking the hoses out the front of the card (like ShadowYuna), I want the hoses to be flush (right angles) with the top. I have little room (1cm or so between top of card and case wall).
How are the hoses attached to the pump?
Would it be easy to remove the hoses from the pump and place two 90* angled fittings somehow?

I dont think that is possible. Due to it is already factory sealed you wont be able to customised the pump itself.

I try to do what you exactly saying but there were no way I could disconnect the horse from pump.

It would be easier if the pump is something like below pic

I wish EVGA do better option on next Hybrid Cooler

Rumor: I heard that new GTX980ti or TITAN X overclocked version will comes with Hybrid cooler like EVGA from various company such as Asus , Gigabyte , GALAX , MSI.

Hey,

Said i'd comeback when backplate was installed. There it is. Very straightforward installation, get the right phillips bits! I used Phillips #0 (from wiha since i really like their brand, it's tough and it does not strip).

So yeah, it looks boss! i reallllly like it. It has little thermal pads for vrms etc so i guess it will help to keep those a little lower in term of temps. Just so you know, i MIGHT have noticed a little -1,-2c  AFTER the backplate installation but i wouldn't count on it as OFFICIAL!. In case anybody wonders, the 980AiO Hybrid on the titan x doesn't interfere with the backplate (it was mostly obvious but just in case somebody wonders).

The pump is not loud but clearly audible, a "metallic" sound comparable to a HDD at idle. Less annoying than my previous Kraken G10 "VRM burner" + Kraken X31 but definitely louder than reference GTX980/TitanX cooler at 26% fan speed. I have 2 upgrade kits bought within two week so I doubt it is "only my rig"...

Someone asked for a video so here you are:

My PC is very silent (<700 rpm fans, no HDD). I used to plug the pumps into motherboard header. Thanks to that I was able to turn pumps off at wiil.

Actually it isn't that bad as it sounds on that video, especially when a case is closed. Also, it is much quiter when you reduce voltage but I'm not sure if it is safe in the long run.

Hey - wondering about the connection that you did. I'm thinking about trying to connect the pump straight to motherboard just because of the buzzing sound. So I would just like to clarify:

1) Instead of disconnecting the blower fan and connecting the pass-through of the hybrid AIO, you have left the blower fan connected and led out the AIO cable and connected it to motherboard (using an adapter cable?)?
2) Couldn't you just plug the hybrid AIO directly to motherboard 4pin PWM? Or it has the wrong connection? I'm asking because I plug my other AIO CPU cooler straight to the motherboard. If so - would this be a right cable?

Thanks a ton for the answers!

Hey,

The connection from the aio is not pwm. You have to get a mini-gpu 4pin to pwn adapter. This way you could plug it straight into the motherboard but i find it useless. I have no sound coming from the pump AT ALL! I expected it but it never came... So do what you want to do. Both both will work very well.

You might wish to create a new post.  It isn't as easy for anyone to see your Hydro cards in Germany post buried in a thread about adding the AIO cooler to a Titan X.

What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus
