It's the same specs as the sc'ed model with the Titan like build. But it's $70 cheaper on newegg then the 2982 sc'ed model.
 
Why is it still not listed on the evga site?
 
I may opt for this gpu as a small upgrade to a Titan[1st gen] as i game in only 1080p. As with the upcoming 980TI's coming
soon, the $70 less price does help.

It should be at the EVGA site so will get that fixed. This is the same as the 2982 model with a different cooler shroud.

Is the cooler shroud as quiet as the Titan like shroud?

Yes, the cooler is virtually identical minus the shroud.
