My current setup is in my my modrigs profile. It's been going strong since 2010. Thinking about upgrading to a 980ti,. Will My CPU be a bottleneck at all???

What would you define as a bottleneck? Example is that if you have a system from 2010 then it's not pcie gen 3 since that wasn't even on boards at that point in time. There are people that say that even modern cards don't saturate a gen2 bus but I can definitely say I saw a difference in benchmarks between pre-nVidia reg fix and post reg fix. Couldn't tell anything in games though but given that there is a measured difference, even that can be perceived as a bottleneck.

You're good if the game relies on the GPU.  I'm running an i7-950 with a 970.  If it means anything to you, if you look at firestrike scores, there isn't much difference in scores when comparing x58 to newer i7s with the same GPU.

Shader caching pretty much eliminated bottlenecks for me. I am running a 4930K with stock clocks and a 980Ti. Some older games will hit a wall, like BFBC2, however they still run at over 100 FPS... So, it really doesn't matter. EDIT: I7 950 will probably still bottleneck though... I don't know for sure though. I do know that shader caching significantly reduced CPU bottlenecks for me.

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna pull the trigger soon on the gpu. I'll probably upgrade the mobo and cpu in another two years.
