Those who are still waiting for shipment (especially outside of USA) don't keep your hopes high. Go get yourself some thermal pads from amazon / ebay and apply it before something happen to your cards. Some of your cards might be a time bomb waiting to explode and if it does happen, that's $400 down the drain. As much as I highly rate EVGA, they really mess it up with the ACX cooler. Whether it's about cost cutting or not, they seriously learned it the hard way

Ordered mine on October 25th (3 weeks ago as of today), status is still "Awaiting Shipment" and I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed by the EVGA support. If I would have wanted to have a card with bad support I could have gone with any other brand. Well I guess lesson learned ... next time I know better. imricko99Those who are still waiting for shipment (especially outside of USA) don't keep your hopes high. I'm already willing to fix the card myself and now I am supposed to pay for the materials as well? Definitely not happening ...

Nightmare90 May you tell me which thermal paste is used? If is has a too low thermoconductivity I will replace it with a different paste having a higher conductivity.
Nightmare it looks like the same grey paste evga used on the heatsink. I do not know what brand it is. This mod though has lowered my idle temp to 29-30. Before it was around 37-40. I did not apply the new bios. I will play BF1 later and see my temps. Pre-mod i would get 65-67 degrees with an aggressive fan curve.

I also want to share with you guys what i discovered applying the mod. First, one of the four screws holding the heatsink was loose! Second, after removing the front plate I noticed maybe two VRAM chips were making contact with the stock pads.

For every day that goes by and my status is "Awaiting shipment" my goodwill towards EVGA is diminishing. This will most likely be my last EVGA product in a long time to come. I am left with a card in my system that is not performing to the standard advertised by EVGA, it’s cooling capabilities when it comes to the VRM, and possibly even the vRAM components is subpar to the rest of the competition. I cannot believe I spent more on my 1070FTW when I could have gotten a Strix or Gaming X for less money in my region (Europe). And let’s be honest here guys (all fanboyism aside) what makes the FTW/ACX cards better? Are they more cherry picked than the other cards? Nope! Do they offer a superior cooling solution? Lel no! Are they more silent than the competition? With the new VBIOS, hell no! So, what am I getting that is premium or noteworthy? It certainly isn't the 3-year warranty, ASUS and other brands are offering those as well. It’s bad enough that I am showing leniency by installing these, but I am not getting these damn pads, its almost 4 weeks since I ordered them?! Get your heads out of your behinds and start shipping them abroad for god’s sake! This is amateurish to say the least.

It is more than apparent that EVGA has nothing else to say about this matter. Their only official statement right now it's "sorry guys, we are doing it as fast as we can", period. Some info would help ease our minds a bit. What particularly kills me it's not know whether I'm going to receive my pads next week, next month or next year. Let's accept it, we all paid an extra price for a mediocre product.

Mediocre? I'd go as far as to say subpar. The mediocre cards out there might not be visually pleasing to the eye, no blackplate, no gimmicky RGB LED BS, higher temps? Maybe, but at least their VRM/vRAM components aren't exploding/melting.

I'm waiting since 25th... It's been more than 3 weeks and still shows awaiting shipment... Probably gtx 1070 ftw gonna my LAST EVGA product... I already returned 2 GTX 1070 Superclockeds because of restarts and high temperatures. I bought FTW from amazon.com, submitted thermal pad request on 25th of October and still waiting... That "must" be first come first ship but appearently it doesn't. Well, that's not good.

Because i dont want my system destroyed i went and spent 25 euros(Thermal grizzly kryonaut paste and 4 EK 2,00 24mmx120mm pads) in materials to fix this myself. And with the pads installed and better thermal paste I've seen better performance overall. and will properly add the EVGA pads when they arrive sometime in 2020.
