It's been officially 4 weeks now for me since I ordered the thermal pads, status is still "Awaiting Shipment". Thanks EVGA for the 'excellent' support... I hope at least European customers won't be affected by the Thanksgiving holidays.

Got order confirmation for thermal pads on the 25th of October - but still awaiting shipment. Ordered the free PowerLink on the 5th of October and still waiting for the email with payment details.. In the mean time, I have watercooled my GTX 1080 FTW with EK-GTX FTW1080 waterblock and pre-fill for EK-XLC Predator 280 QDC AIO. Using EK-Waterblock thermal pads. Got sick and tired of waiting for months (my estimate) to fix what appears to be a simple production error.

You should request EVGA to reimburse you for your troubles, and I am serious here. We have out of spec cards with inefficient VRM/possible vRAM and increased noise levels due to new vBIOS fan curve, you were forced to fix it yourself, I would want compensation for my time and money from EVGA if I were you.
My humble setup: Intel i7 4790K - EVGA GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0 - ASUS Z97M-PLUS - Samsung 850 EVO 500GB - 16 GB G.Skill Trident X 1866mhz 8CL - EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W - SilverStone Precision PS07 - Acer G237HL Monitor - EVGA Torq X5 Gaming Mouse - Turtle Beach Impact 700 Keyboard

I received mine last night, I also signed up when they announced the whole thing. They are a bit different than what it was shown on early videos...now we have 3 more strips for the vram as well and the thermal paste comes in a plastic little case. The process is straight forward and it is not hard to do. That said, the led connector on my card was pain in the butt! It took me 15 min to unplug this sucker...I don't know what was wrong but it wouldn't move...I did it and did the mod and then my led's stopped working, had to wiggle and re-plug it to make them work again...be careful with the led plug(the little one) it is fragile and extremely hard to unplug. But I am glad I did it...after the mod my core temps went down 6C. Awesome!

Waiting as well, I really think there is an error on the site regarding the shipping date of 11/2/16. I don't think mine were shipped out until 11/15, got my powerlink already but still waiting for pads. I emailed support yesterday but no response yet. Hopefully they are in soon. I'm in the US so it really shouldn't take this long.

Awaiting shipping on mine (UK). I'll admit the report of one of these things taking out other components has me slightly concerned. Will give it another week or two, then I might just RMA both my cards if there's no movement...

Request Shipped 11/02/2016 (Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery). Still waiting here as well.. 1080FTW -- Kinda wish I'd could return and go a different route. This is my 2nd 1080FTW as well. Had to RMA the first one for the black screen/fan issue. Props to EVGA for attempting to fix the issues though. Hopefully the pads come in today/tomorrow.

Faenix1 Still awaiting on shipment, and me being in Canada it'll probably take weeks to get to me, but this whole situation has left a sour taste in my mouth. First time I ever spent over $200 CDN on a GPU - last one I bought was in 2009 - and now my choices are: -Leave it alone and it'll probably die, resulting in me being out $600 CDN. -Apply the pads myself, and hopefully not screw up -RMA for a refurb, even tho the thing isn't even 3 months old. Which I find unacceptable. I don't even have a credit card right now, nor do I want a refurb after spending $600 CDN on this thing, so a RMA is out of the question. I won't claim this is my last EVGA, I'm not one of those people, but this wasn't what I expected when I went "high end" for once. (1070 SC buyer)
While I am not happy about this whole over-heating/artifact because of Micron chips, rather than Samsuntg, and no active thermal pad element contact shipped from the factory, etc, etc...I have to say, that this is my second EVGA card, my first was an GTX680 SC, and never, did that card have any issues in usage,or performance of any kind. The quality of build is excellent, as is my current GTX 1070 FTW...and yes...I'm pi**sed about having to take it apart, and apply the pads (including vram) when the kit comes, but I believe that EVGA will NEVER again try to save a few pennies per card in the future. This has been a really embarrassing hit to their reputation, and I'd be shocked, if we ever read in any future card series, this ever happening again, with a cooling issue, post ship and production. I'd be shocked, frankly. I will still buy from this company, as they did not go into a 'under the rug..and oh well' mode...but will back you up as the customer, no matter they do the mod, or YOU do the mod. I will still buy my next card from them. Even more so...because they will absolutely OVER KILL any other card's heat dissipation strategy from this moment on. If you were the C.E.O.....would you not ever to want to see this heat generation control, and governance issue, hit the forums again?!?

Hooray..I see that my kit just shipped today....allow for 2 weeks delivery... Want to get this installed, and behind me. The VBIOS mod has helped in a number of ways. I have full confidence that with the Thermal Pad Mod (including the VRAM), my card will be everything that I had hoped for, when deciding to purchase. No more (Micron V-chips) artifacts and crashes using W10, and cool running. That is what is hoped for, with further usage!

Mine have been on awaiting for shipment for more than a month near to two now :D, I simply ordered few thermal pads from china and applied them some time ago even made a thread about it, I have contacted support 3 times and they all repeat the same, ''just wait we dont know etc'', for almost a 2 months now, so I dont expect them to be shipped or nothing, just makes me sad a bit. Any way my card is till running with my own gheto pads so, if any1 else out there have similar issue just check my thread and fix your card, its easy and wont take much of your time.

Just like the people from the UK, i waited till last Tuesday to receive my pads and i ordered it the day it was announced "Oct 24th" and i live less than an hr away from the headquarters. Adding the VRAM pads may be the cause for a little delay. Just be glad EVGA is doing something about the problem. i know it's an expensive piece of hardware and it could be worse. I feel all your frustrations because this is my third card. But for some to say "First and last Evga card" is just not right. I give credit when credit is due, and EVGA manned up to their issue with the pascal chip and is doing everything they can to fix the problem.. My Cousin Has a MSI GTX 1080 gaming X and his card crapped out. They are giving hell with the run arounds saying it's his fault basically and having test this and that, instead of saying 'OK Just RMA the card' or 'we'll replace it'. and he still has the crapped out card till now and it's been about 2 months of going back and forth. At least EVGA does not void warranty if you want to add a watercooled mod as most company's will. So i say to all that does not have the pads yet, Hang in there you'll get it.

Same here. Just requested RMA. Tired of waiting and I think in the end it is better. Even though I have the technical skills to perform the mod I don't trust the card that I have. I have tried to logically overcome the perception but I cannot. First thing I did is overclock with Precision then do torture testing. Who here doesn't? (did not use Furmark) Did I damage the card? Probably not... but... probably? Secondly. This card, due to this issue, will never be sold on the secondary market to finance another purchase. Does EVGA care about the secondary market. No. They shouldn't. But I do. Everyone and their dog who would buy this kind of card, at the usual places where these things get sold, knows now that these cards are tainted. I bought a premium product at a premium price that is now, for my intents and purposes, worthless. I will now have this, or actually the replacement card until it dies or is technologically irrelevant. I want one that has been checked out, has factory installed pads and a factory programmed BIOS and that I don't feel a lurking suspicion of, since I am now resigned to having it until it dies. I do appreciate EVGA's handling of the situation and want to stress that this is why I bought EVGA to begin with and will again. Probably not anything with an ACX in the description...

I can understand the same feeling. My only thing with doing an RMA is getting a refurbished card when I bought this end of July brand new. I am bothered also by the secondary market as I've always sold previous used cards to upgrade and now we're are kinda ****ed in that aspect as no one will be buying used EVGA 1080s.
