Try uninstalling the software you are using and then install MSI Afterburner. It works very well with any nvidia graphics card.

No problem and I am glad it works for you!
The Precision X (or whatever version it is) has always had issues with stability and other glitches. Way back when I first started OCing my graphics card it was recommended by quite a few people for me to switch to the much more stable Afterburner, in fact an EVGA rep also recommended the same thing. I do not know the differences in programming between the two programs but I wish that EVGA gets on the ball and creates a version of precision X just as stable as Afterburner.

If you like a simpler overclock/fan adjustment software, there is a program called Nvidia Inspector that looks a lot like GPU-Z but let's you overclock and set the fan at a static percentage as well as auto. You can open a Sensor Monitoring Graph that covers nearly every feature you would need to monitor as well as well as open multiple windows of it if you have more than 1 video card. You can also put it in a P8 power saver mode which clocks it down quite a bit when not gaming. For my 1070 FTW power save mode drops the clocks down to 708MHz instead of 1607MHZ so I can keep my global nvidia control panel power management mode on max power for global so I don't have to enable it for every game I play. It also lets you tweak the 3D graphics settings much more advanced than you can within nvidia control panel. It's a nice program, gives you a lot of technical details and keeps things simple without the eye candy of PrescionX or Afterburner. I'll pose a picture of how mine is setup for you to see if you decide to try it. It also doesn't conflict with any game and I have mine displaying on my left peripheral monitor. Here's the Pic:

Precision XOC v6.0.8 (the latest as of now) as well as v6.0.7 may ask you for First Name, Last Name and Email Address but the Serial Number is no longer a Required Field as denoted by an asterisk (look closely)..Scroll down on the download page to see the Version History..Is that not true for you?..Maybe right-click and running the installer and Precision as administrator might help..You can use/try PrecisionX 16 too.

Other than that, stick with what works..Afterburner is recommended when Precision fails, or otherwise.
