Hello ! All is in the title, I already know there is some cards with issues, sad to read that (evga made some big mistakes I agree) but here I want the opposite, you have a 1000 series EVGA and no problem at all (for the moment maybe ) come here to tell us that ! We always know when someone had a problem on forums but all customers who are satisfied never speak on forums... Just give us the date of purchase too.. I begin - > 1070 SC, 6th october, no problem. edit: If it's possible to precise if you have pads or not pads...Of course, it's more relevant to post here if you dont have pads on your card I think... I want also prove here that not having pads is not a big deal at all and thats there is a lot of cards without pads who works like a charm Like mine...

I agree with you and what you mean... We will talk only about no visible problem and no problem when using the product. Maybe you have but if it works, this is not a real problem at the moment

1070 SC with back plate. 30th SEP purchased , no problem as of now but can see huge gaps between VRAM pads .. Eagerly waiting for thermal pads as request raised on 24th OCT.

1080FTW with thermal pads fitted by me, voltages are now stable @ 1.091 dropping to 1.081 which is a lot better than it was(1.05), no great increase in OC ability but stable, if you haven't put in for the pads, DO SO they do make a difference, and it's fun if you want to have a look at the innards of your GFX card/s without the risk :D

My 2 x 1070 FTW were shipped on 5th of September. Aggressive fac curve, latest BIOSes, no problem until now (black screen, loss of signal, fan spinning 100% or other reported problems). No thermal pads installed either. We will see how they will work in 2 years from now on...

for ilyama a bit off topic i know soz, but... does the aggressive curve fan cool the VRMs? also how far does your voltage drop when gaming if that's what you do on your computer?

I think that there are several factors to take into consideration for the VRM temp: 1) case ventilation and overall temp in it - in my case I have a 20cm fan which blows air on my video cards - see Corsair Carbide 500r case 2) overclocking - if you put power at let's say 110% you will clearly force the VRMs (voltage regulators) - here at the moment I have "stock" voltage 3) fan curve - here I keep it on aggressive, which should help I am not sure if one can measure VRM temp, in the normal operation, not by removing backplate and putting some thermal sensors on it an so on.... And, if I know correctly, the "exploded" scenarios happened only with GTX 1080 FTW and not with GTX 1070 FTW... even if both cards suffer from the same "wrong" thermal design.

No problem here either. Had a stock EVGA 1080 SC, for a few weeks before installing the hybrid kit and new thermal pads by fujipoly. Great card. Purchased 5th of November. Or first. Idk anymore either the 1 or 5th lol. Gaming in 4K, max load using the "K" symbol. I have an OC of 135/120 power/350 memory/80%fan and it's got a 99.7% stability on fire strike/extreme and ultra ran 3x each. Highest temps so far are 49 Celsius. ( mucho fans and cold room)

Thing is that in case of VRM You dont se the problem untill problem occures. If You have problem with VRM it means Your card is dead.

I originally purchased 3 1080FTW and 1 FE, all EVGA without a single issue on any card, I sold 2 FTW after benching, the FE is in my sons computer working perfectly, I recently installed the Hybrid kit on the FTW in my PC, EVGA really needs to improve the instructions with this kit, nice pictures but to many little details not addressed, I didn't have any issues with overheating before and now it runs even cooler and quieter

My 1080 FTW sequence number is under 2000 (last 4 digits) so if there is anything wrong in terms of thermal pads, design flaws or popcorn resistors, it is probably in mine. FTWs are going kaput whether it is 1% or 10% of the cards..... it is worrying. Yes my card is working great TILL NOW but I can't just sit back and crank up ultra settings knowing there is chance of a firework show at any moment. I like to do something about it! Any equipment could fail and I accept that but: - Increasing fan noise is not a fix for a card running on stock speed.
- Not sending an email to someone who registered their card from day one warning them that they should take action instead of discovering on Reddit a month later that their card is as good as a Note 7 is a problem.
- "EVGA has investigated these reports and after extensive testing" then after their "extensive" test, a forum user discovers some VRAM chipsets are floating cities
.
- I still didn't receive my thermal pads and I can't install my own high end branded thermal pads because I could lose warranty*.
- Standard RMA a working card just to get another customer "refurbished" burnt card returned to me in a tomato box. RMA might take weeks. i7 5820k... no thanks.
- I respect that you stand behind your product, you set up a web page to address the issue, you will RMA the card in most cases*, you offered free thermal pads with free shipping and a bios update for the ones who don't mind.
TL:DR I'm grateful my card is working great but I'm worried it will break any moment. Prefer to avoid doing RMAs and I would like to enjoy gaming on it asap. Thanks.

Got a perfect 1070 FTW from Frys about 5 weeks ago, OC's great and no issues. I did receive the new pads from EVGA last week along with the Powerlink, probably going to install those today anyways. Cooling wise with my desk design, there's 3 fans blowing right on the 1070 plus the acx keeps it super cool 21-60c.

diegopl2 Are we going crazy? In my case ... yep! My card was ordered from EVGA on 08/23/2016 and it was shipped from EVGA on 8/31/2016. I received it on 9/5/2016. So far no issues. In fact I for once may have won the silicon lottery as mine can run at 2025MHz (set from Precision XOC) and whether I am letting benchmarking programs loop for an hour or two or play a few less-than-demanding games it stays at 70C or below. Just sayin'.

got my 1070 ftw and installed the graphics card it ran amazing for 2-1/2 weeks then my monitor went black I heard strange electrical pop and saw big spark from the top middle section of the card and smelled like burning plastic. Well I didn't even know there was a issue with the card until it happened because I trusted EVGA to put out a quality product but appears to not be the case waiting for a RMA cross ship now and hope will fix the problem. I had to put a old video card in the system to make sure my ASUS motherboard did its job of protecting the other parts of my computer (it did thankfully).

but just for your information my RMA still shows pending approval. Now why would it be pending approval if there is a mfg issue with the VRM. Just want to say REALLY!!! NOT a happy customer at this point.

It's news because the forum is filled with threads that may give people the false impression that all 10 series EVGA cards are exploding or just waiting to do so. A thread like this illustrates that the sky isn't actually falling for all EVGA card owners.

My temps were good to begin with. Hottest part of my card with Furmark running was low 80's on one row of VRAM. GPU, chokes and mosfets were even cooler.

diegopl2 Are we going crazy? This post is totally irrelevant, a correct operation is what is expected of a high-end product that costs about 500-700 €. It is not news that a graphic card works the way it is expected
It's news because the forum is filled with threads that may give people the false impression that all 10 series EVGA cards are exploding or just waiting to do so.
A thread like this illustrates that the sky isn't actually falling for all EVGA card owners.
Exactly, all the forum talks everytime about 5 or 6 graphic cards... There is several thousand of cards without problem (at the moment :o ) this thread is here to prove that's not the end of the world..

I bought my 1070 FTW back in September and haven't noticed any issues. The card runs under 65C all the time and is even OCed to 2100 MHz on the ACX 3.0 cooler. The only reason I even bothered with the thermal pads was out of an abondence of caution. In fact, the VRAM pads made contact on many of the chips.
