Ha.. as I said few times before.. locking doesn't do any good! I'm saying it again... it should be removed instead of locked! If it is just locked, then I could still contact the OP via chat and make deals! Mods should allowed to delete these kind of threads.

This applies even if we are giving them away for FREE??? I always give mine away with no expectations of payment re-payment. That includes all my hardware items and shipping as well. And EVGA570 is right as well.

So this means if you get the card as a gift they code technically isn't yours... It belongs to the family member who has no tech knowledge and doesn't even game... Makes sense to me....

I'm pretty sure you can give them for FREE but not asking anything back. There are a few locked threads here that should be deleted. If I wanted to, I could still ask them to trade!

We are not permitted to allow free give aways. This is directed from NVIDIA. Most of our code promotions are in partnership with NVIDIA. If we ever run a promotion outside of NVIDIA, we will clearly state if you are allowed to buy/sell/trade. As to codes outside of EVGA/NVIDIA, if you can provide a moderator with terms that specifically state you CAN buy/sell/trade/give, then we would allow it. We are going to leave the threads in place that are already here, however future threads that do not follow the above will be deleted. Thank You, Rob

Nvidia has done a complete 180 on this. In the past you could trade or sell game codes on official geforce forums all day long.

I guess this means if you get a code for a game you already have, or buy 2 GPUs or whatever the game comes with, the other copy of the game can only remain unused? Seems like a waste, but then again it's not like a code costs much to make, cost is 99% in R&D for digital stuff anyway, so throwing away a few GBs of info (in an abstract sense) is cheaper than throwing away perfectly good food or clothes that some places do.

Or, if you have a friend that doesn't have the game, ask them if they want it in private. They could start limiting every user to one game code no matter mow many cards are purchased. They did that when I bought my 760s, as I bought 2 cards at the same time and was told I couldn't get two codes to AC4. when I got the 780tis, I bought both of them separate, so I could get two sets of codes.

It's not like Nvidia going to break down your door if you give extra code away or sell it. They just don't want partners to allow it.

I understand that, which is why I said to do so in private. Do a raffle, blatantly obvious with an our own prize, then give the code to them. It's easy enough.

I can see it now, a guy in a dark alley: "Pst. Hey you, want to buy a game code?" *spots Nvidia Police car* "It's Nvidia! beat it!" *runs off*

As an employee of a national enterprise level company I find this business practice laughable. The consumer can spend $1600 CDN + tax for two cards, receive the exact same code twice (since we aren't given an option) and then is told that they can't give one away or trade it? In what world is this considered a value add and improve the customer experience?

This is a really stupid policy. You got the money either way. What difference does it make if they want to do a giveaway? Its not hurting EVGA or Nvidia.

I've seen people trying to ask for things in return for a "Giveaway." If you ask for something to trade for a game code, that's not a giveaway, it cost you a code to get a code... Which should be a WTT thread, not a "Giveaway" thread. I think that's what got their interest.

Yeah I have never done that. What few little things I have given away. Its just that and nothing asked for or expected in return.
