I would love to have a stock that looks like that. It was beautiful.

I have been to a few firearms manufacturers plants and seen processes like these.  One of the most fascinating things I have ever seen.

I was most impressed by Ruger and Colt.  Both use different manufacturing processes.  For instance, Colt uses forged blanks in which they take a steel blank and press it into a rough shape, and Ruger uses sand casting to get the basic shape.  I think the colt method yields a better product just because of the hardening process through the stamping, but both put incredible time into each firearm.

The part of the video where they have this 5 axis machine cutting a single part, I don't believe that is part of their production process.  That isn't cost effective.  I have seen both Ruger and Colt use a CNC machine for a single process, then its off to the next CNC to do the next process.  (yes i am jealous i can't do that kind of production in my basement).  At the end of the line every firearm is pieced together by hand, and lots of fine detail work like test fitting and filing.

Interesting video. I just wish reporters would quit abusing adjectives in headlines though. People should be able to reason out on their own whatever emotions the content elicits without being told. I'm tired of reporters telling me what I should be happy, sad, enraged or excited about.

Keep in mind the gun they produced in this video was one of Berettas premium high end shotguns. This isn't some $1500 gun. The one in the video was likley several thousand dollars. As in cracking 10k in the blink of an eye. Add in the it was engraved and hand fitted. It wouldn't surprise me to see it crack 50k. Some of these one off Beretta customers are on gunbroker for as much as 100k. Cabelas gun library has one for 65k right now. I can see them dedicating a single CNC to this on the pemium guns that cost this much.

I also so the Master Engraving shop at colt, which can cost around 5K for the engraving alone.  Gold inlays are incredibly detailed.  A colt isn't a beretta shotgun I can say, but they do have some premium stuff.

Ironic every time I hear Beretta, I think of my POS issued sidearm.

+1 on colt but like anything you get what you pay for.

Yeah I think the M9 has sightly tarnished the Beretta brand since its a Gov. contract weapon. Personally I dont like the M9 or M9A1 I have shot both and dont like the trigger pull compared to my Glock and 1911's.
