I have been waiting for this fight for years and tonight it is finally here. Wondering who here is watching and if you are who are you picking to win? Me, I'm just hoping for an amazing fight. PPV is purchased and there will be beer, wings, and good times tonight.

Yeah, not a good fight. Mayweather fought an Olympic style fight, touch your opponent more to win. Too much backing away and holding for an exciting fight. Now Manny is in trouble with NSAC for not disclosing a shoulder injury.....perjury they are calling it and a suspension, fine, and withholding some of his purse are possibilities.

The fight played out as expected... It was never going to be a brawl.  Anyone who thought differently was either caught up in the hype or has never followed boxing/ Mayweather's career.    It was a typical Mayweather fight, a safe no risk defensive game plan.   Manny is past his prime, 17 more fights with many more slugfests, slightly slower but significantly less powerful.  The admission of pre-fight injury and Mayweather's subsequent offer of a rematch appears more like a poorly disguised attempt to set up another payday.

Mayweather is perfect example in my opinion why people don't care about boxing anymore. People like him have turn the sport into a joke. It's no wonder MMA has overtaken Boxing. 

While I agree Mayweather is not good for boxing....he is a symptom not the disease....don't hate the player, hate the game.

As for MMA having overtaken boxing, no it has not.

Edit: When it comes to popularity of MMA vs Boxing it will always be a moving metric. No MMA fights have drawn anywhere near the viewership of the top boxing matches of the big stars. However MMA is still young and has had times more growth than boxing in the past 10 years.

Boxing needs to be fixed, and that has to start with the commisions and the promoters.......way too many shady organizations and sleazeball promoters.

Watching old matches of the greats still makes my adrenaline rush!.
 
I am not scared of anyone in their prime other than Tyson. He is epic!.

I prefer boxing. Heavy weight to be exact. I dont like UFC and MMA.
