Fine first episode, rubbish second episode, epic third episode.
 
I do think it is no where near the ultimate quality Top Gear was. Sound, editing (video presentation cuts etc), contrast, colors etc. It does come in 4k flavor though.

Loved original top gear, only seen the first episode of TGT, but I have to confess I don't really like it. Felt like a straight clone with Micheal Bay in charge + an awful "stig". I'll reserve real judgement until the full season wraps up though.

The new "stig" is awful, a race car driver that no one knows.  They should of tried to get someone like Jeff Gordan.

Ahhh dude get rid of him. I hate how stereotypical they made him too. Also the ghetto track they have is terrible. I feel as the track does not give the cars that go around it any justice to show their true performance like the original track on top gear. Some may argue 'but Hazman they are on a budget" and I say 'yeah whatever dude its not like this show is not unknown with all the advertisement"
 
So far the third episode is the best. The second one was cheesy and kind of annoying with the repeats of them dying and doing the same thing over and over again. The highlight of it was when Jeremy's pants came off when he was rappelling. That cracked me up into tears because how cute and stupid it was. The first episode felt like a syllabus introduction to a class. I am not saying it was bad but it was good in a way that you know that no work is going to be given on the first day. idk just typing whatever is in my head right now.

It's meh at best. I prefer the original.

Magically die: I think I read that it is because of some copyright stuff. BBC will sue.

The "celebrity brain crash" segment needs to go away. It's stale and getting extremely annoying.

Does that mean hes not coming on then?

It's trying too hard to be Top Gear 2. A lot of it just seems too forced. I don't think it's the three guys that are the problem but rather direction is the problem in the current series.
