Whether you are an "enthusiast" or not, viruses can still be an issue, and we're all prone to them; but that can be majorly reduced. It's something that should not be overlooked, and that incudes Trojans & backdoors. They can put a huge impact on performance. Below is an article PCMag has presented which they think are a few of the best Security Suites of 2016:

Most security vendors offer at least three levels of security products, a standalone antivirus utility, an entry-level security suite, and an advanced suite with additional features. Most entry-level suites include antivirus, firewall, antispam, parental control, and some sort of additional privacy protection such as protection against phishing sites, those frauds that try to steal your passwords. The advanced "mega-suite" typically adds a backup component and some form of system tune-up utility, and some also add password managers and other security extras.

I don't run any virus software. I check my system like once every six months with some free programs and never find anything on my pc.

it is almost impossible to be script injected if you are on google chrome nowadays so typically the only way you would encounter malicious software would be to download it and run it.

I avoid google chrome completely (including their search engine if I can help it), due to them censoring a lot of information out, and only allowing people to see "one side". It's that bad. If any of you don't know this, I'm sorry.

Same. Hate Google, hate their business decisions, and hate their constant political advocacy, so I'm stuck with Mozilla.

Would be nice to get a web browser from a company that aren't scumbags and just makes software these days.

My Windows 10 won't even let me install it anymore. LOL. I tried everything. I guess if I want it, I'll need to reinstall Windows. Going back to a different time won't even cooperate.
