If that quantity of 200 is accurate, then that sounds more like a pre-production run than a production quantity.

I never said it was accurate just stating what an unofficial source has told me.

Relax, I'm not blaming you for the data.  All I did was make an observation on the implications of that data.

Honestly, if the device isn't out in mass quantities within a week, it will be a major fail for the Christmas season.

That is when the HP slate 7 extreme and slate 8 pro comes in. The extreme is exactly the same as the N7 (maybe a better build). Both HP devices run the tegra 4.

Anyone have an update on when they may be in-stock again? Unfortunetly I was a bit slow on the DL and am now quite a sad girl... I've signed up for the Alert, but if anyone else has any more info I would appreciate it!

Hopefully they get them available soon.  On another note, I realized the stylus is very good at some games. Played FIFA 14 to try it, and I don't play that game, and easily scored a bunch of goals due to the accuracy of the stroke.  I will try with Madden which I have problems with since the hand blocks seeing the screen and which players are open.

Wow these had poor pre-release reviews. Now no product to ship while the market is changing almost daily. And the post release reviews are not looking a lot better. With so few on the market and poor reviews for the ones out there. I really have a concern as to whether they are going to have the staying power in a very very competitive market place. I am bummed, it has so much I love yet no HDMI and no Memory 16 gig and some apps won't run off the external card. I think Nvidia made a mistake and they need to either come on strong with some updates or punt on this product. I read on ebay they are crashing with some programs sounds like the 1 gig ram issue. Glad I canceled mine before it shipped.

Couple things, they had about average reviews "pre-release" some not the best, some pretty good.   Next, the reviews have actually been pretty good once people got them in their hands.   4 out of 5 stars on newegg, and typically that is a relatively tough crowd.

The market is changing almost daily, so really in a couple months, something better will probably be out and that is all the staying power any tablet has now days.   It, right now, is the best sub $200 tablet.  So what more can you expect?   It does have hdmi, and external storage of at least 32gb, so it is ahead of many of it's competitors right there.

And you are going to Ebay for info??  because one person who is selling one said theirs might crash occasionally?  That is the first I have heard of something like that, besides one review here or newegg asking about auto shut off.   So it could actually be a feature that they are mistaking as a problem.

And lastly if you consider that the going rate is about $75-$100 more on Ebay than most of us paid, it sounds like we got a heck of deal for $180-$200.   If it was that big of a disaster, it wouldn't be sold out everywhere and wouldn't be selling for the inflated ebay prices.

To me it sounds like you were unsure and canceled your order.   And are now trying to talk yourself in to that being a good decision.  I think overall most people are pretty happy with it.

I like to form my own opinions about a new product i have an interest in regardless of reviews and i knew what i was getting specs wise before i ordered. The fact that it seems to keep selling out and hardly be in stock should be an indication of its popularity. I have no issues so far and no regrets. Glad i pulled the trigger. :D

I agree, the reviews were very biased. Everything is compared to the Nexus 7. Based on the specs of the Nexus 7 and the Tegra Note 7, the Tegra wins. Fantastic product at a great price. (written with Stylus beta).

So has anyone of you played NFS most wanted yet and Real Racing on this tablet? If so how is the graphics? Also how much fps are you getting? I know you can download an app to tell you how many fps your averaging. This claims to be a gaming tablet so I assume it to have at times well above 30fps. Also I always wondered does a game on a tablet play at your tablets specified resolution? For example since the tegra note 7 res is 1280x800, will a game be playing at that res?

Yes the Games play at 1280x800 they are some apps that change you screen res but I have not played with any to know how well they work. I downloaded Real Racing 3 to give it a try and got around 38-42 fps while racing, so not to bad and the game looks great.

I just wanted to say, OH YES I'M GETTIN UN FOR XMAS! and I'm glad everyone is raving about the stylus as that's a big selling point for me. Expandability and power and IPS screen all look good too. (hopefully I don't experience this "sticking" screen business).

I read a newegg review stating that the device has no haptic feedback. Does that impact anyone's experience to a drastic level of disappointment?

Where are the screen protectors and why the f0rd are they waiting til the 27th to sell the aforementioned HP Slate covers?

I've been checking newegg's inventory daily and it appears they get a new host of Notes every week. Usually lasts for a day, then the next day is shown out of stock. SO, if you're still waiting to buy it, just keep checking and try again next week.

I would like to play NFS the moment I unwrap this bad boy.

Cheers

I asked Illumishield about the delay and all they said was that their design for the Tegra Note 7 / HP Slate 7 Extreme has been delayed until the 27th. I'm calling shenanigans since HP's store is selling a screen protector.

I assume you attend that average FPS due to the low resolution. How many frames you think you would get if the tablet was 1920x1200? I am thinking around 28fps. Also can you find a benchmark that has the Note 7 vs Nexus 7. Its between those two tablets I am debating on what to buy. I keep flip flopping on which one I want lol.

No, that is not the case. I was purely reporting the results from an out of the box config. The Citadel test has the fps capped at 60fps, the note hit that with a few power adjustments. The fps for this tablet with a 1920x1200 screen is an irrelevant discussion here, because of price and it would most likely have the added hardware and enhancements to give similar results.
Here's a comparison from the futuremark test for the 2 devices. My results are at the very bottom which is almost 600 higher than the reference device . For me the price and performance was a better ROI than the screen resolution.

HP has a screen protector listed but not available. I have also been looking for a screen protector and even looking at the Advent Vega and Xolo whatever there does not appear to be a specific one available or released yet. This entire launch is very weird.

I first bought a larger one to use, but never installed it since my tablet had to be rma'ed.   Then I ordered one of the illumashield ones in the mean time, and according to amazon it has been shipped, and is supposed to be here next week.    We will see when it shows up.
