I figure I can bring my cannons back around to this team at lower power. Not gonna pull the crap I did in Chimp Challenge (I can't handle the temps), but I can bring my SMP back, maybe a couple legacy GPUs.

I left my 2600k that ran @ 4.5ghz at school so Im down 250k points a month due to runnning folding on the rigs at home With the 2600k and gtx 460 I could get 600k no problem, at home its a pentium e5600, with the gtx 460, a i7 920 that runs about 14 hours a day. and my ps3. With those guys I bairly go past 350k a month. Ill be back in the game mid-late augest. Also around that time I hope to get a gtx 670, so hopefully we will have cores for that by then.

I love the enthusiasm. I'm running at my peak and although I'm heavily infected with the upgrade bug, I don't have the vaccine (cash) to cure it. Dang we will band together and make sure that the advertising on the side of EVGA boxes stating that EVGA is the #1 folding team won't be a lie ;) Damn hot weather and no proper core for the 6xx series clowing out team down

I think it's time a summertime recruitment plan was put in place. EVGA can kick it off with their anniversary incoming. Can EVGA this time provide a real attempt to get the message out to users. Maybe a proper explanation of Folding and DC projects and why it's a good idea to contribute and save lives at the same time explaining the EVGA $ program and earning bucks for future purchases. an inclusion of pages to properly install and configure FAH/Boinc software. (seing that the Folding @home pages here are out of date using the old v6 clients)

Horvat OK bowlinra, Have 6 servers now and just sold 1 of my Harleys so have the funds to buy the rest of the parts for 7th server. How does 1 million PPD sound? And then when I get the rest of the parts for my 8th server (which is a case, psu and memory), well... Get em squirrel, unleash the armor piercing, high explosive, cyanide tipped rounds on em. That's Awesome! Last night I believe I discovered a memory issue with my new 48 core box, during the initial overclocking setup. It's been running Memtest86+ for almost 24hrs with 29 errors. I'm working on figuring that out and will get back in the hunt. You should take a hard look at this AMD G34 4 socket setup. I'm dropping p6903 WUs about every 36 hrs for ~445K points at stock speeds and pulling under 460w. I was hoping to get the OC complete yesterday and start working on a guide for the team, but its on the list to do.

I didn't see any advantage to run the v7 client.. I'm so someone could educate me here, but wasn't initially impressed with the v7 client at all.

Well lots of reasons, our points are going down, but it is amazing how much [H]'s points have gone up. OCFthanks[H] is new and pulling in 15 million points per week. How they do it? Guess they work at it. Look at all the imports/converts dreadwing, grandpa, tear, ChelseaOilman, AtlasFolder, and the list goes on. Grandpa, musky, tear gee most of the 4p crowd at the top have pulled the trigger, didn't look to see if Grandpa gave notice at the folding forums, as he said he would or not. Don't much care. However, our top folders through ignorance, lack of competive spirit, or we just think it isn't the right thing to do. Have our points almost cut in half. I now do 700,000 ppd where I was doing 1.3 million a day. However, I could still be doing 1.3 million a day, if I ran the script. Wonder why I haven't gotten a 6903 or 6904 since before CC started. http://kakaostats.com/usum.php?u=1293292 The one on 5-25 was two work units. mine used to look like this http://kakaostats.com/usum.php?u=1783314or this http://kakaostats.com/usum.php?u=1606628

Yeah, some [H] members helped OCF during the Chimp Challenge. Now they're returning the favor to help [H] reach 900M points in May (which they did) by folding under OCFthanks[H]. Points under this user should slow down as the OCF crowd moves back to their team. Not sure how [H] got all those other big folders to jump on board, and all at once it seems.

Just curious, are you using the -smp -bigbeta configuration for your clients instead of -bigadv?

I new to the big SMP folding game, dropped the cash on the AMD 4 Proc box.. I might not be in the KNOW.. What "script" are you referring? I'm running ./fah6 -smp 48 -bigbeta (From the start of the CC) here is the break down of my 12 WUs: 2 - p8101 1 - p6901 7 - p6903 2 - p6904

That script is part of "not the right thing to do". its also known as the core hack and works both ways.... It basicly makes your OS look like having a different core count than you really have and with that you can influence on what projects you´re getting assigned. I can only speak for myself here, but my power bill has reached the limit I´m willing to tolerate ( €650,00 on average throughout the year), so I have to cut back during summer to keep it in balance...

mmillion, and all, what you're saying does not require a script. Just use the -bigbeta flag instead of -bigadv. All 690X is now under beta, and not without a reason. There have been quite a lot of buggy 6903/6904 WU's (too large, too small, cannot upload, cannot engage, etc, etc). So, Kasson pulled them all to beta, at least that has been my understanding. As you should know, running bigbeta comes with no support and no guarantees...

bowlinra I'm running ./fah6 -smp 48 -bigbeta (From the start of the CC) here is the break down of my 12 WUs:
The only commands you really need unlsess you want to use less cores than you actually have are ./fah6 -smp -bigbeta And what you can do so you can start the client with just ./fah6 is start the client with ./fah6 -configonly Then enter till you get to the line "Do you want to change advances settings", enter y for yes. Change the entry on work packet size to big if you have not done so already, enable -advancemethods and then when you get to "Additional Parameters" type in -smp -bigbeta. Enter till you come back to the fah@root command line and enter ./fah6 to start the client. At the biginning of the log you will see your parameters are already set for -smp and -bigbeta.

Points under this user should slow down as the OCF crowd moves back to their team. Not sure how [H] got all those other big folders to jump on board, and all at once it seems. It was really a win-win for [H] under their desires for winning...they didn't have to "officially" join CC as a Team and reaped points assistance from another team to help them with the overtake of us. There are a variety of reasons that people have joined the [H] bandwagon for the overtake of EVGA. Some people (not all) just love to hate our team and appear to be there for the pure enjoyment of seeing us overtaken. That part is sad to me because I don't understand that kind of thinking, but you will see that kind of comment sprinkled in their threads in places. Another thing that is happening, which would happen on any team in their position, is the heightened excitement and push that comes from being near an overtake. I expect that some of the large points results come from people pushing their rigs harder than normal as they near the overtake. We would do that too. I've openly told the members of [H] that I will cheer them as they pass when/if it occurs and I'm sincere about that statement. Maybe we should at least swat 'em in the behind though...

They have a large number or SMP/bigadv folders. So there is alot less heat.

Agreed, the Mother Ship is in need - for myself I am switching more power over to folding. Crunching is a great also, but time to Protect The Castle. I really wouldn't mind if someone passed EVGA - but the more I see out of [H] the less I like - No Respect.

Right-o Tankster!! Also, if you have followed our production (seasonally speaking), even when we had a full crew of just Folders, the period right after CC through the middle of September is typically our worst months of production. I say that so people won't get too discouraged, because the "seasonal slump" factor is there even in our best of times as a team. There is still "strength in this team" and don't let anything or anyone tell you different. We wouldn't be putting up even 15M a day if this team were not pulling together across a lot of differing iron and capabilities. The tide will come from [H] and I say so what...ho-hum, yawn. They will have a bit of a hey-day over it and then the moment will pass. We on the other hand will be here consistently doing a great job of Folding with a great company connected to us. Things can and will change, so don't let our standing in the world order of points define us as a Team. I have high respect for teams that don't even place in the top 50. Are they any less worthy of honor for what they do vs the #1 Team? I think not. We are all one Team anyway in the fight against these diseases and no one team can do it all. That is the "secret sauce" of Folding...the Distributed-ness of it, so stay proud and Fold strong my bros!

Wow, why do I even post? I get on a couple of times a week for 15 to 30 minutes, might peak in at a thread or two, and at best am horribly behind on everything going on. But 6903-04 back to beta?? Who would have thought. Sorry, Grandpa, musky, tear and others for my ASSumption. Well the logic still holds true our points are down, not because of a script but because of beta testers (them) and non a beta testers (us). I can't report problems in the Beta forum, so won't be switching to -bigbeta, hope they get released back to the general public.
