"It's been almost a year and a half since Nintendo announced the NX, and now the gaming giant has finally dropped the codename and secrecy in favor of something more official: Switch. Like the countless rumors previously asserted, it's indeed a hybrid mobile and home console with a tablet element and detachable controllers." - Link

Middle ground from the WiiU console and 3DS portability, best of both worlds.

While it looks cool - time will tell if they really get developers on board which I feel was one of the leading issues of the Wii(u) consoles.  I mean they almost at some level shot themselves in the foot with the lack of many 1st party titles.  I think one of the biggest factors will be pricing.  I am sort of disappointed because I have 0 interest in the portability aspect of it.  My wife and I do enjoy playing the Mario games though so it would be nice if there was some sort of option that was cheaper and did NOT have a screen built in.

    That commercial.....

Call me old fashioned, but I can't even remember the last time I saw a grown adult using a dedicated mobile gaming device. The entire commercial is based around 20 somethings taking their video games to parties and the basketball court?

If I'm going to the basketball court - I'm going to play basketball not PSP.... wait I mean Nintendo Switch.   All they did was shrink a tablet, make a docking station for it, and put slots in the sides for controllers to slide into.

I feel that the form factor on this may be a limiting factor in horsepower due to power and thermal constraints.  But then again the last 2 Nintendo consoles have been extremely limited compared to the competition.  I get it, they are targeting a "different" market - but that equates to a smaller more niche market.  Which also translates into less sales and less revenue.  Supposedly they have confirmed support from Activision, EA, and Bethesda among others but a lot of that will depend on the dev environment.  XB1/PS4 are both on similar platforms (x86) so I wonder how hard it will be to port over to this console.

Why is Nintendo still making hardware? Just push all their games to iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. This is the console version of Blackberry still trying to make phones.

Right now I am not super impressed.  It will come down to game catalog, and hopefully not die the slow death that the Wii U is.  There would have to be about 6+ major titles that would just be to die for, in order for me to buy one of these.

    12900kf, ROG Strix z690-a Gaming, 32gb Gskill DDR4 4000, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra, Ae-5, Seasonic 1000 Titanium, EK 360 AIO, Corsair 680, LG 38in, AKGK7XX, Samsung NVME 2tb

Just give us a clean set-top box with a classic simple sleek cordless controller "SNES-ish , a super large harddrive, and let us buy digital new and older Nintendo games, kind of like the way Steam works.

Use the same cordless controller for phones/Tablets for mobile NES games.

Not only did the force the inclusion of a controller with a touch screen with the Wii U - they force you to actually use it in some games which was super frustrating.  I believe it was one of the reasons the Wii U did so poorly and they've obviously learned nothing from it.  It does make sense though because they are partnering with Apple who is the king of "we know what you want" lol.  There's no reason to not have a nice small set top box with regular wireless controllers.  I'll wait until I can get one of these on the mega cheap and then get my Mario fix.

Nintendo is not partnering with Apple @ All they  are well the  inside is provided   by Nvidia a Custom Tegra SOC  also if you had watched the video  there is a regular controller for it called the  Switch Pro controller
