That number is way high; at least in regards to what we actually paid for it. Retail would be a different story. ;) By the way, since some folks were talking about power consumption... here's what the "big boy" of the group is currently consuming and (if I understand correctly) outputting (the BTU part?): System Board Pwr Consumption: 1200 W / 4096 BTU/hr PS1 1.6A 202V PS2 1.4A 202V PS3 1.6A 202V PS4 1.6A 202V All 64 E7-8867 cores are pegged at 100% and bouncing between 2.64-2.67Ghz.

I remembered last time around my scores caused a little commotion in this community, so thought I'd check in again. Plus, you know, EVGA and [H] being rivals and all. Our teams are playing ping-pong with 5th as I've seen it flip at least four times. Think [H] is currently in 5th, but know that could change at any moment! As for the individual race? When I checked the leader boards this morning and, upon seeing myself in first by a large amount, I said, and this is a direct quote "holy sh**!". Was a good way to start the day. Too bad I didn't take part in the other events in this challenge... although I'm sure Mr. Brown is glad. The processors in question are four E7-8867v3 units with HT turned off. This is the only system I bothered to do that with. Memory isn't a concern as it has 1TB of RAM (only using 1%), but seems folks keep suggesting HT be disabled. As for the power ratings being so low, I'm not sure what's up with that. "Only" ~1200W does seem a little low, but other than trying to cook the CPUs the system isn't doing much else.

As long as you are paying the Elect Bill then I am OK with it And we do need to keep the rival going. Sad we cannot get more of our team members to run with us, some have some hard hinting rigs but oh well. 20 Hours to go, at lest I should be able to get 1.5 sets to complete before then. Being on a Fix Income now I cannot pay out $5000-$8000 a piece for some E7-8867V3 CPUs

Looks like fastgeek is going to take our 5th place away from us for a 2nd Challenge in a row. Challenge SeriesSo [H] may have us on PrimeGrid {Now} but we have them on the Folding Side.

With less than day to go, it's time for the usual end of challenge reminder: At the Conclusion of the Challenge After the challenge ends, we would prefer users "moving on" to finish those tasks they have downloaded, if not then please ABORT the WU's instead of DETACHING, RESETTING, or PAUSING. ABORTING WU's allows them to be recycled immediately; thus a much faster "clean up" to the end of a Challenge. DETACHING, RESETTING, and PAUSING WU's causes them to remain in limbo until they EXPIRE. Therefore, we must wait until WU's

I was hoping we could run out the clock before they passed us. Nothing wrong with being in the top ten. I have shut a couple off, all are set to no more work DL Still have a bunch that will finish in time, a couple that may or may not. Great job everyone. Thanks. Not on much today, my back is killin me. I'll pop in later to see where we stand.

You guys did great! I made it to the upper 40's and that was the best I could do. Geos52 was tracking me down and with more time I think he might have caught me! Thanks for the participation. We were rolling along pretty good until the one man wrecking crew FASTGEEK pushed us down a notch. 5k short of gold on this project as of this moment. Cheers

I guess if I had 1064 Xeon Cores like fastgeek we would have kept or 5th place and maybe even have gone up to 4th place. Great Work Team EVGA Did any one receive a Prime??? bill1024 I did complete all my tasks, I finished about an hour ago. I priced a 64 Core Xeon and it would cost about $12,000.00 so I am out that game now.

olddanit - You nailed it. If I had a functional 2p or 4p I could make a bigger contribution to the challenge. Another idea I have is a NUC with an I7. Cheap way to post steady numbers. Anyone doing this or heard of it? Great work everyone!

Good job everyone and thanks for the pie bacav. When I posted this morning I had 11 wu's going and was sure 7 would make it in time but looks like 9 made it. Good competition within the team and outside. My hardware is getting quite long in the tooth as am I but just happy to contribute.

Ok next challenge is in early Oct. 3rd to 4th, just one day. 25 days and 12 hours 15 min. from now I just ordered one more PSU, still need to get a couple more. Have to make some room somewhere to put the things too.

Looking now at a PE T630 with 2 Fourteen-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2680 v4 2.40GHz 35MB Cache (120W) And at the same time a Supermicro SuperWorkstation 7048A-T - 4U/Tower - 8x SATA - 16x DDR4 - 1200W with the same CPU over on http://www.thinkmate.com/system/superworkstation-7048a-t/163851 The Dell one is about $600 cheaper. Both with 64GB Memory. Not sure it would be here by Oct though.

They are asking for a little help with the cleanup for this project. There are a lot of WUs out there that need to be run. Here is what the mod said at PG forum. "I rarely say this, but we actually could use a little help with the cleanup. ESP isn't a particularly popular project, and there's about 1500 cleanup tasks waiting to be sent out. That's probably 5 day's worth, and that's assuming no more tasks get cancelled. This is one of those rare times when you actually can help with a cleanup." Nice rig Bill, good luck with it.
