I see the flagship lines of the 970 varieties have been sold out already. What is the stock prognosis for the the FTW versions, among others?

Newegg has the Reference Cooled Superclocked version for $570 minus $5 Newegg promo and $10 MIR, so basically free overclocked version.

He was asking about the 970 varieties...

I don't think the FTW or any of the 970's or 980's with ACX 2.0 have been in stock at all yet. We'll have to wait for more info on possible availability dates. Hopefully later today.

Oh oops you're right, no coffee yet this AM, surprised I managed to check out at Newegg :D

But yeah those in the market for a 970 should probably wait, like a FTW similar to the 670.  The current 970s don't impress me, they are basically the tiny PCB with an extension for a few capacitors, so I went with the reference 980 instead.

so they havent been in stock, period? I was under the assumption that everything was in stock initially and has already been sold out?

And the only ones that were even available for sale are the ACX 1.0. All ACX 2.0 have not been available yet...

forgive my possible ignorance here but all of the 900 series cards have the ACX v2 installed. The coolers look different than the did before, no?

    the 2 non-reference cards here:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=evga+gtx+970&N=-1&isNodeId=1

look like the same cooler, here:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-970-maxwell,3941-6.html

just no "ACX 2.0" print on the newegg links.

Look at the fan blades. You can see the difference there. Plus, look on EVGA's website for clarification. They have ACX 1.0 and ACX 2.0 970's listed. The newegg 970 has ACX 1.0 and the tom's hardware review has ACX 2.0.
edit: Besides, it says 2.0 on the new ACX design at the bottom right of the cooler.

I feel ya.  I held off on the 700 series and will likely pull the trigger on a 970 FTW when they're available but I'm not liking the blue accents and whatnot.  The 700 series ones looked better imo even though they're not very different.

That's because it's the SSC version with ACX 2.0. Still, it's $10 more than on EVGA

Little frustrating, as I posted here, I received notification from EVGA one of the cards were back in stock a few days ago (970 SC non-ACX cooler). By the time I got through to the website, it was out of stock again. I'm looking for the 970 SC non-ACX for my Mrs' desktop, and 2 x 980 SC non-ACX for my desktop. I wonder if they'll be readily available before Christmas! I'll probably talk myself out of it by then and stick with what I have and wait for the 980 Ti or FTW versions ..or maybe wait for the next series, lol.
