Evga step up from 970 ftw+ to 1070 ACX 3.0. Put in step up request about an hour after they put it on the step up list. I got #30 in queue. I got step 2 about 2ish weeks ago. Scheduled to be delivered tomorrow through ground shipping which I used both ways. According to the card they registered they also upgraded me to a 1070 ACX 3.0 SC so thanks EVGA for that! Hope this helps some of you though I realize queue numbers further along in the queue have already been posted.

choji7Just a suggestion for the future, maybe buy one of those cheap $30-50 discrete graphic cards for back up situations like this, would be better than literally nothing. Never know if you will need to rma your only card or something.

Well, I'm building a LAN rig pretty close in the future, so I'm planning on relying on that as a second GPU.

What I really considered was going to Best Buy and picking up a GPU to use for the remaining time, but I've done that a couple times too often already, don't need to do it again.

For those wanting a time frame on the GTX 1080 SC step up, here's my journey so far.

May 27th: Registered for step-up to 1080 ACX 3.0, pretty early in the morning so I got #124.
June 22nd: Due to delays, EVGA upgraded my 1080 ACX 3.0 to the 1080 SC free of charge. I have no idea why it's easier to bin chips for SC than it is for the ACX 3.0, but whatever, I got a free upgrade.
July 5th: Reached Step 2, completed remaining steps that day also.
July 6th: Reached Step 5, time to ship off the GPU. Unfortunately for me I had to go out of town, but I took my 980 Ti with me so I could ship it.
July 7th: Shipped of my GTX 980 Ti with priority mail.
July 11th: EVGA received my GTX 980 Ti.
July 12th: EVGA changes step-up status to "received original GPU."
July 13th: I received a tracking number for a package from EVGA, expected to arrive 7/19 (GTX 1060 embargo lifts same day I think?).
July 14th: EVGA notifies me that they've automatically added my new GTX 1080 SC to my product page.

I'm just hoping I get the GTX 1080 in time for the Zenyatta buff, and Ana being added to Overwatch.

I'm from the US and there doesnt seem to be movement for the ACX 1080's here either. Perhaps we have to wait until next week which sucks.

I just received an email for step 2 of 5 for 1070 ACX 3.0. I was #193 (live in the US) before the queue disappeared. Hoping to get approved soon!

It could be much more than 1 week... It can't come soon enough... I RMA'd my 980ti KingPin because it is a piece of junk... got a card back that is even worse...  Fans at 100% and still has cooling issues (thermal shutdown).  I had no problem with the 980 SC I had before the kingpin... I'm tempted to RMA again if the Step Up queue doesn't start moving...

(NEVER BUY A KINGPIN EDITION ANYTHING)

They must have done a huge batch today.  A guy on Reddit who was 70ish got his last week.  So they knocked out over 100 in the last 4 days.  this is good news for stock stability.  I was 270, so perhaps next week is a good goal for me!

So it seems like the stock for the 1070 was more widely available for step up even though it came out a while later than the 1080. It's hard to wait for so long lol. But itll be worth it. Hopefully there will be some 1080 movement this week- #149 and still nothing.

They had the queue up on the german, asian, chinese, and russian sites about a month ago. They removed the queue numbers from every page. The numbers people are saying are what their queue numbers were before they removed the numbers from all the different pages.

Has anyone who was in the queue for the ACX 3.0 that was bumped to the SC received their card in the US yet?

I know at this point I'm looking at 53 days of In-Queue time.
Originally tossed my 980ti in for a Step-Up on May 27th.

Also is it actually a queue or is it a lottery type program? The reason why I ask is there was a reddit comment that submitted on 5/27/2016 who received their card a good 2-3 weeks ago?

It's a queue for all we know.
Bunch of people were literally counting seconds for the step-up request submission to become available, so right after it did, every minute affects your queue position greatly. :D
1070 line was moving slowly but then last and this week it looks like a sizeable batch of cards got allocated for step-uppers, so queue leaped forward over a hundred positions.
In the meantime EVGA received my 970 on Monday; hope my 1070 ACX is shipping soon, woohoo!
Update: shipped and arriving tomorrow!

I'm not entirely sure how they handle Step-Ups. I've been buying EVGA cards since 2004, but this is the first time I've used the program. I'd have to believe though that step-ups rank least in EVGA's priority. Not just because they're allowing people to send back an older, used card and simply pay the difference, but because it means that those of us in the queue already have a working video card, whereas people purchasing outright may not have one to use at all.

But, don't get me wrong, I'm as eager as anyone to get my hands on the new card. Still, the patient wait continues.

There is one benefit to knowing when you are going down in the queue. You can plan your finances out to absorb the payment better. I don't know about you guys, but I usually don't have a couple hundred dollars to slush around all the time. Call me poor. Say I shouldn't be stepping up to a 1070. I know you will. You think you understand, and that's cool, you don't for real but saying that makes you feel good. I get it. The point is, knowing is better than not knowing in that regard.

I understand EVGA not wanting to cater that information because people are complainers but...complaints are a part of the service industry. Worked in CS all through college. They should just suck it up and provide the information. Just my opinion.

I feel ya man. I certainly cut the amount of needless purchases and going out to eat after few weeks of entering the queue. An unexpected $100+ expense out the wallet should make anyone notice. For some odd reason I thought today was gonna be my day of paying for the step-up: Mainly judging from what little information a lowly-peasant consumer can access, I gathered that the 1070 of SC and FTW varieties were more widely available and in stock (as of this morning, they're pretty much sold out or being resold by scalpers now). I'm debating myself very hard right now; about going on amazon.com and making an order once more are in stock tomorrow. Then again I would be virtually giving more of my money to a company that I don't know if I should give a "blind-faith level" of trust yet.

And the employees will keep quiet like they've been throughout this whole thread because ignorance and silence is considered better treatment as opposed to the truth(which would be something that results in hundreds, or maybe even thousands of apologies).                                                                       Think about that for a little bit.

There must be a significant shortage on these cards. I am one week away from being in queue for 2 months (1080 ACX step-up on launch day @ 11am PST) and was queue number 255.

In the time I have been waiting, I decided to buy a new mobo, case, and new monoblock from EK; more water cooling parts in my basket waiting for purchase. Its funny that the item I thought would be the first thing to get for a new system will end up being the last after its all said and done.

Cheers!

I did my Step-Up in May 29th (I was out of town launch day) My Queue number was 993 last time we could see it.
We're all in the same boat it seems, being that only 150-ish Non-FE cards had made it into to the step up queue.
At least I still have my 980ti sc in the meantime.

Step-up received today. Stepped up my 970sc to a 1070 acx 3.0. Longest wait by far was while in queue. I'd say it was somewhere around 30-45 days. Don't remember exactly. After that, the process was pretty quick. Got my graphics card only four days after sending out my old one. I just installed it and I'm giddy. Thanks for coming through, EVGA :)
