Hello there

I have a question about the step up plan and pre-ordered items. I bought two GTX 980 cards, but the seller did not have them in stock when I placed the order (10/09/14).  They actually came into stock with the seller 5 days later on the 15th, however the invoice date is for the 10th.

Please can you advise if this effectively means my step up option will terminate on the 8th January 2015 (90 days from 10 October) or if it will be up to the 13th January? I would feel pretty low if I missed a step up opportunity by a few days.

That said, I think its highly unlikely I will be getting what I wanted, I bought the cards with the hope that the "late November / Early December" date for the 8GB versions would materialise. Not looking likely right now, unless NVidia suddenly drop a newsbomb :(

The step-up program page cites the invoice date/date of purchase.

Yes, I am aware of that and had read the information - I wanted to know if there was any variation for pre-orders, after all, FAQ type posts only usually cover the most common situations.

A person could have ordered many weeks in advance and then lose their opportunity, which would be unfortunate if not rather unfair, especially considering the credit card is not actually charged until the item is in stock. For me its only a few days, but for others it could be longer. Of course, read the small print.
