This is a heads up, that I plan to take a break from gaming and the forums.  Trust me, I love being around the forums, but I need to get out of the house and start enjoying nature.  My way of going on such an adventure?  It's time for two wheels again.

I rode from 2004-2008, racked up 14,000 miles, had one accident (wasn't hurt, didn't drop the bike, just hit an animal, later sold the bike because of the military) and have not rode even once until last week, when I worked on a friends bike and fixed the chain and a bunch of other things.. I test rode it to make sure everything was ok, and it just felt... right.

I found this beauty at a local dealership.  The guy bought it, rode it for less than 120 miles, got scared, and took it back for a cruiser. As you can see, he didn't even turn sharp enough to remove the oil show room coating from the tires.  So, I decided I would adopt a bike that needed a new home.  Now that I have a 2.5 car garage that I don't park in, I figured this could take up some room in there.

PLEASE RECONSIDER...  AT LEAST PLEASE BE SAFE

I don't think that it is coincidence that I am reading this while at work in the ICU.

I work in a Trauma Center in Boise Idaho, and I see the worst possible accidents you can imagine, daily.  I can't even begin to tell you how many times I see absolutely horrendous MCC (motor cycle crashes).  I've seen more lives decimated by MCC's than anything else here.

If you must I understand.  I used to love riding my motorcycle.  Please be careful and use a helmet at all times.  ALSO, please wear leather and appropriate apparel.  Don't ride around with flip-flops, jean shorts and a regular shirt.  Please put safety first; I don't want to see you hurt.

Totally get it... Feels like I need to get back into doing more "active" things as well. Have fun but be safe!

My country road... We do not have a straight road.
If faster to buy a bike, only cause an accident.

Ankle boot, full leather jacket with perforated chest and arms, shoei helmet, Jean's. Those are my minimums. I don't ride without protective gear.

Get the ballistic nylon "overpants" with the knee cups.  Jeans will last exactly .02 seconds, as the road is a cheese grater.

    Also quality MC gloves.

Rules of survival when riding a MC

    3) Yes, They are out to get you

    4) Never ride when your head is not clear & your reflexes are not 100% save my butt if need be

    5) Yellow light, check your rear view mirror first

    6) Out stopping the car behind you is not good.

I also highly recommend taking both MC safety courses --- yes a pain in the ....
*** If it saves your skin even one time (and it will) it is worth the trouble to take

Also will save you on insurance

I'll still be here, I'll just be out on the bike more than sitting at the computer.

I have only had one accident, and for that I am grateful. I still have the body to that bike, as it still has fur coming out of it. I hit a deer doing 6th, and didn't fall. I found a whole new respect for animals when that happened.

Watch out for the "black snakes" (soft tar strips all over the county roads) -- it is slick as greased ice

Heck, watch out for all the other drivers. When I had my R1 I got clipped by a passenger side mirror and laid it down and the driver just kept going. nothing like having skin debridement. I haven't rode since college (4-5 years) I do miss it now and then. I'll probably end up getting a Harley at some point for cruising around.
