Had some parts laying around I wanted to sell, and someone was looking for a small server for Minecraft and TS3. So I supplied the Mobo, CPU/Cooler, and half the RAM. They bought the rest of it all.
One thing I made sure to do and glad I did, check the thermal past on the chips under the mobo heatsinks. It was dried out and not doing a whole lot to help cool.

Have to say the Corsair 450D is a very nice case for the money.

    Thanks for the BR.
The X58 and i7 920 is still a little power house. Especially when all it is doing is running Minecraft for just a hand full of people. A little overkill, but it never hurts to have more than what you need.

    Very neat rebuild there

Well this is still relatively up to date, so I'd see this as Mid-Gen hardware , it's not older than 10 years, so that would refer to Mid Aged parts
Since the X58 / C602 chipset is from November 2008, that is about Seven and a half years old and as a Retro-PC renovator & rebuilder myself, I don't state this as Retro or Old-Gen hardware, but Mid-Gen instead, so yeaps that fits it perfectly

Even if you'd give this system 2x EVGA GTX 580 3GB, it would still do some serious rendering btw or 4x EVGA GTX 580 3GB or those Classified cards, either way Fermi is still well up for the task, mainly the 3GB cards are very interesting

If you have a 920 D0 like the 930's, 950's & 960's were; these can easily do 4.2Ghz on air if not mistaken

It is a 920 D0, but rather have it stock clocks for reliability. Used to run at 4GHz. Have the RAM at 1600, which is technically overclocking, but we all ran it there when these boards were new. With the 24GB, I had to shuffle the sticks around and play with some BIOS settings. Could only get 16GB to show in the BIOS.
