Hello. I'm about to buy an EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC Gaming card from newegg. I want to know how does the step up program works. I already read how to apply for it, but what i want to know is, do you register for it as soon as the card arrives or is it only when you want to do the step up. Also, i read the time for a step up is 3 months, am i correct? Does a card bought from newegg works on the step up program? Lastly, can i upgrade from that specific card to any 980ti variant in this site? If someone could clarify my doubts, i will happily jump ship from team red. Thanks in advance.

You have register it right away for the best benefits. If you wait, you have to purchase the extended warranty to be able to use the step up program. Also, make sure you upload your receipt as soon as you registerethe card so that you don't forget.

The only card you can upgrade to in the 980/980ti class is the basic card with the ACX 2.0 cooler. No other card is authorized for step up.
