Hi,

So I installed my GTX 1080 Classified, but then I noticed that the PCB is seriously bent. It is not sag from hanging in the case, because when you push it up it stays bent. Then I removed the card from the case and it is immediately visible it is not straight. It is bent quiet a bit. It seems I can't add a link to the phpto's I took, so here are some:

Should I RMA the card ? I'm worried it might get damaged over time, and I am annoyed by it now that I know it is bent.

 Update 25/11/2016:

So after a month I finally got a replacement card. However, after unpacking like a little kid who just got a new toy and looking at the card I quickly became baffled. It turns out this card has the exact same issue... I am also wondering if it really was a brand new card like EVGA promised me three times, because the box wasn't sealed in plastic and the protective plastic on the backplate looked to be slapped on with a hurry.

It took a month to get this RMA completed, so now I have to do this again ? I paid 760€ for this card in september and to this day I haven't been able to use it.

Also kind of strange that this happened again, is this a manufacturing error ? I'm already shivering for my next replacement card. Also I don't know if I will get a brand new card now, I don't want to get a refurbished card. Not my fault the Classified cards are bent. I hope this can be handled quickly. I already sent an e-mail to EVGA.

Update 27/11/2016:

I examined the card a bit more and it looks to me that the cooler itself is bent. First I thought this maybe could be from mounting it too tight in the factory, but I found some pictures of the card on the internet and the cooler looks straight on those pics.

Pictures of my replacement card => http://imgur.com/a/YcTFv
Pictures of GTX 1080 Classified with straight cooler for comparison => http://imgur.com/a/MFOYT

It's difficult to fully see it on the pictures, in real life you see it immediately that the cooler is not OK.

I think this is not good for the card, it could impact the cooling of the card.

I would, its seriously bent. Not only your card will continue to bent even more under some heat, but it looks awful and if you care about aesthetics than that is no go.

Should I do an RMA with EVGA directly ? I bought the card on 28 september, but I installed it just now since I had some problems with other parts and just now I had everything ready to assemble. So I can't send it back to the store where I bought it.

That's how it works. Open RMA ticket directly with EVGA and they will take care of the rest.

You sure you can't send it back to were you bought it from?? Worth a shot cause most likely your going to get a used referbished card back from evga now.

I'd just explain that you just opened it.

I think at this point regardless where he will return the card, he will get refurbish back and unfortunately that's the downfall of RMaing, but doesn't mean he will get anything less what he purchased.
Few years ago I got replacement from MSI, the card was sagging as heck, they gave me replacement within few days It  was perfect pain free RMA and I still have the card, runs great and no sagging after all those years

I would mention you want a new replacement. On the flip side, with the cards I have had an RMA completed, all have been brand new. I typically only buy from EVGA store so I am nkt sure if that is the reason.

What problems are you having with your cards that you need an RMA?

A Slightly Bent PCB is not an issue unless the it is causing the Cards to Not Fit in the PCIe Slot or the SLI Bridge will not go on Easley.
I think that the OPs Card is Bent Slightly More then normal and maybe an RMA is in order.

Lol, I made a support ticket first like was asked before submitting an RMA. I just sent the support ticket and immediately got a reply from EVGA that they offer me an RMA. Talk about fast ! But the problem now is I don't have a support ticket number yet, and you need to put that in the RMA request...

It might be because fpollan my have taken priority in your thread as his RMA was approved.
Also he reported termal pad problems so it was more than just a Bent PCB.

But can I make an RMA without a support ticket number ? After I made the support ticket I received the following e-mail from EVGA:

    Dear Mr. De Clerck,

Regarding your product we are terribly sorry – we would like to offer an RMA, to get it back to our RMA section for further inspection through one of our engineer.

We opened a RMA Ticket, which just needs to be requested online http://eu.evga.com/support/openrma.asp, please let me know after your RMA request was confirmed
Through our RMA department, and we will create a UPS Pick-UP Service,

YES you must first open a Support Ticket.
You will need the Support Ticket Number to request an RMA.
Most of the time the Tech who reviews your Support Ticket will Create an RMA for you and you need only complete some info.

But can I make an RMA without a support ticket number ? After I made the support ticket I received the following e-mail from EVGA:

    StijnDC
YES you must first open a Support Ticket.
You will need the Support Ticket Number to request an RMA.
Most of the time the Tech who reviews your Support Ticket will Create an RMA for you and you need only complete some info.

    Hi bcavnaugh,

I first made a support ticket. I then got a standard reply e-mail with the title 'EVGA Question Submitted'. But I also immediately got an e-mail with the following text:

    Dear Mr.

So I am kind of confused here, in that e-mail I am asked to open an RMA, but I haven't gotten a support ticket number yet... So how can I make an RMA then ? And nobody replies to my e-mails...

Maybe someone from EVGA support can respond ?

That and it might under My Open RMAs
Their is also a link to Support Tickets that will show you the status of any Support Tickets Open or Closed or even to start one.
I had to put in my CC Info for the RMA, not sure you will have to do the same I did do an EAR the last time I needed an RMA.
    Links are all EU

Now I know what the problem was with the support ticket. Apparently when logging in as Home(EU) you can't see any open tickets in the support tickets tab. But when choosing Home(US) you can see them. Bug on the website ?

Anyway, I got a reply from EVGA. They want to see some photos. Not sure why they ask because I provided a link to those photos in my first message already. And I can't seem to attach photos directly to a support message, it keeps giving me 404 errors. So I replied with that link to the photos again. I hope they understand because time is of the essence !
