So, I have been thinking about getting a smartwatch and was wondering if anyone here has one and and which one they have or would suggest. I have read that the LG G-Watch R is the best one at that moment, but I also really like the Moto 360. On your marks, get set, go!

I've thought about one of the Apple watches, but I don't think they're quite there yet.

Dont need another thing to remind me of emails and texts. I have a phone for that and an analog watch for time.

It's not really very smart if you're too lazy to reach into your pocket for your phone now is it?

Oh, I don't care how practical or not that it is. It appeals to the Gadget Geek in me. It's cool. I was thinking that the only thing that would make it better would be to also make it a Dive Computer.

My issue with smart watches is the charging time. I don't want to have to charge my watch once every day or once a week. When I was in the USA last month I bought a cheap TIMEX Ironman watch and it does everything I need it to do. When someone makes a smartwatch which will last me several months without charging then I'll consider it.

That is my thought also. I think they are cool(Dick Tracy) But you have to charge all the time. When I wear a watch I put it on and that's it hardly ever take it off.

You've got that right!! Not to mention, I will be darned if I'm going to upgrade my watch every year or 2. I'm already sick of doing it w/ my iHorn and iPad. I don't mind upgrading my PC though. If I'm gunna wear a watch, It's gunna be something really nice, not a gadget. but to each their own.

I bought my Pebble Smartwatch also from "geek curiosity" and it kind of grew on me. I use it to get notifications, emails, calls and I really like that I can change its face once in a while. I keep it connected to an Android phone (it is also compatible with iOS) and I don't know, I got accustomed to checking the watch and not the phone anymore. I can understand the skepticism revolving the smartwatches but, from my experience, these tiny devices are worth it if you don't want to check your phone once every 5 minutes. If you want to check the Pebble model I own see here: mbreviews.com/pebble-smartwatch-review/

As a mechanic, a durable smart watch that would show me texts, and allow me to use voice commands to respond would be awesome. Right now they may be 'lol' items, but in the near future I would buy one if a durable one comes out.

Have you seen the LG G Watch R. It's not exactly "Rugged", but it does have a bezel around the face that would help protect the glass.

Back when I was cooking(working) and now, if I was in a shop, Id love to have a true hands free_ish setup, like what Baltothewolf said. I almost got a Pebble watch but didn't, because they looks half_hearted in the r&d. I'd get a smartwatch myself, if they keep it simple, functional, battery life, and tough as an Ironman.

A watch is a fashion accessory in the age of smartphones. I'd just as soon not have to deal with something annoying me on my wrist. If I did get a watch I'd probably get a Garmin D2.

Always wanted a mechanical watch, thin bezel, no battery. I haven't a clue if I could even touch one for under $1K?

I've been thinking about a smartwatch for a while. The Sony SW3 looks really good and it's IP68, which means you can actually swim with it if you wanted... Personally, I was considering a Samsung Galaxy Neo 2 to pair with my Note 4 though.
