Just got my new 1070 ftw and while playing bf4 at 1080 ultra I hear coil whine. As its my first card, Im not sure if thats  a normal amount or If I need to RMA.

Smaller other issues include the middle led sections not being exactly the same hue as the outer portions (they're more bluish white) and the fans jolting randomly while under low usage with the fans off.

Full specs

Coil whine update 23/07/2016: Here is audio of the whine. The mic is set on top of my computer and the whine gets audible at around 0:15 in when I load up a level of battlefield and start playing. I get from 80-140 fps dependent on whats going on.

Ive also now noticed I can hear the faint whine even while my monitors are off.

Normal stuff... Coil whine may decrease after a while of hard usage. Tis normal to have a little ... Tis not normal to have a lot.

There shouldn't be any coil whine if the coil was manufactured correctly.

Not sure what the Mother Board part means but Il check to see if my psu fan is spinning under load. Its a really decent evga 550watt g2 (with the fanless mode switch on)  and Im running the card at stock settings though so I doubt its the issue.

Well, thing is, my case is the Thermal Take V21

It isnt very quiet as a case and it sits right next to me so it is  audible while playing

Hmm yeah then you must have a high pitching sound on that, I barely heard it on my 1080 ftw with no sidepanel unless the frames jump above like 400fps.
The fans are louder compared to the sound from coilwhine on max fanspeed. Well well, i dont hear it and never had a problem with sounds like that while playing, fans annoy me more.

What are your complete system specs to include model and make of PSU?

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Thought I included it, but I guess I forgot. Its not that I have a shoddy power supply, I have a 550 watt evga g2.

There shouldn't be any coil whine if the coil was manufactured correctly.

That is incorrect, almost every inductor coil will make whine when current passes through it, most are outside of the range of human hearing, but is not an indication of improper manufacturing. Any coil with a small heat in it will suffer from magnetostriction.

I have a very small amount of coil whine and it only occurs when folding at home. Folding at home puts almost 100 percent demand on the GPU all of the time. During normal gaming I don't have this whine.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
