Well, that's nice and all but I wish they would stop concentrating on making bigger and bigger drives for a second and work toward MUCH better build/reliability ratings. Besides what most of the enthusiast community has experienced with Seagate drives since the Maxtor acquisition and the Barracuda headaches, the Backblaze data should have really opened their eyes to some of the issues they have. Its either a drive design/arrangement issue or a bad set of crucial components and it needs to be fixed. People do not mind paying a little bit more if they think they are buying into something that's reliable, especially in this area, and can give them the result they need. Right now, I don't know too many people that will buy a Seagate drive for market price, if at all, because of the shoddy reliability and that's the type of thing that can end a business like this, which WE really don't need.
