Good day all, Im in the market for a new monitor, Ive tried the X34 but had major BLB so i returned, Dell S2716DGR but the panel just wasn't as nice as the IPS i was hoping for, also tried the XB271HU bmiprz all though the monitor was perfect with no BLB and little glow but I think im looking for something in 30in+ 21:9 ultrawide monitor, there were a few other monitors from acer and asus but they all had BLB and not worth the sticker. With the X34p "coming out soon" no date anywhere that i can find. I was thinking of just picking up something cheaper than the ones listed above to get me by and i can turn that screen into a second screen when the time comes or sell it. Anyone have any suggestions on a decent Ultra wide or normal 1440p or 4k on the cheaper side but good. Ive read that Samsung U28E590D is pretty nice and is a top monitor on sites for its price, but its freesync and i have Nvidia. I know the GPU will just not use the Freesync and ill be able to use the monitor as. i was wondering if anyone has used a Freesync with Nvidia GPU and if you have issues with screen tearing or anything. Thanks for any suggestions and reading, C

What you want doesn't exist. If you want quality and features it's going to cost. "4k on the cheaper side" To maintain 4K framerates in gaming is anything but cheap so just forget about it if you're thinking a 1440p gsync display is too much.
Not my fault if you're offended.

More or less looking for something decent to get me by till the X34P comes out to see if it's worth the price. And I didnt say 1440p is too much just didnt want to pay $1200 for X34 and all it's QC issues with BLB blah blah blah. Maybe just maybe X34P will resolve some of that. I just wanted to get feedback on people using Freesync with Nvidia GPU's and if there any major screen tearing in games.

Exactly as fearpoint said. If you want a "decent" picture, you're going to pay some money. There is nothing cheap coming when gaming at 4K, especially you asking for a 30"+ size screen. It won't happen. Maybe in 10-15 years when 4K becomes the gaming standard.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. I paid $354 shipped for the non-matte version of this monitor from Monoprice. It's 4k, runs at 60hz via displayport 1.2 cable, and looks absolutely amazing. Sure, it's not a gsync monitor, but just keep your fps pegged at 60 hz and it doesn't make a difference. It wasn't the monitor that cost me the money: it was the 1080 I decided to get after I bought the monitor and saw that my 960 just wasn't going to cut it.

Sethleigh, have you ever had GSYNC before? Once you have it, you will never go back. And, there is a huge difference with FreeSync and GSync. One, Freesync is broken, lol. GSync is really where it's at. It's expensive for a reason. Mainly, because it works. And, the gaming experience with GSYNC is that much better. Everybody will agree. The gaming is as smooth as glass, low latency, better and crisper image, etc.

Yup. 60hz and no gsync in for PC gaming 2016? No thank you.
