Hi there! I have a Asus Z9PE-D8 WS with 2x Xeons E5-2690 8c\16t and 8x16GB 1866mhz ECC Reg DDR3.

I'm considering on buying one SR-X since I think it's better than Asus. But the problem is that I've been hearing that it's not a stable mobo...? I REALLY need to know this since it's for my main Workstation on my office and it calculates metal and concrete structures for all day, and stability is the MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE!!

Can you guys give me some tips about this?

Best regards,

Andre

The SR-X boards are discontinued. You might be able to find one on Ebay for about  $800.

Yes I know, but I'm buying one from a guy on ebay. My question is if it is better or worse than Asus Z9PE-D8 WS

Thanks :)

Worse.

If you were getting a brand new SR-X I'd still recommend it purely based on the quality of EVGA's warranty and customer service, though. Asus, OTOH, have by far the worst warranty and customer service in the entire industry. But if you're getting the SR-X 2nd hand, I guess it doesn't make any difference.

Well, since EVGA SR-X is so beautifull and since I loved my SR-2 with my 2 Xeon X5690's, I've bought the SR-X to try it. I hope it won't give me problems and instability. I'll use a Adaptec 6805 t with 8 SSD's Corsair Force GT 120GB RAID 60, so disks controler will not be a problem. I just need 24/7 stability. :D

BTW, is this mobo UEFI? I would like to try a UEFI configuration...

Cheers

SR-X doesn't support UEFI. Legacy BIOS only.
