Can i do this? With model #s 06G-P4-4990-KR and 06G-P4-4991-KR. Will these 2 work in sli? I currently have the acx2.0+ and have heard that blower style is better for sli. Should i just get another acx2.0+ since i already have one? Also if this sli will work, would it still work if the blower style one was from another company? I have the option of getting a pny gtx 980ti reference with the blower for a really good deal...

i don't see why not. both are actually reference cards, but one has a fancier cooler.

you can mix and match brands as long as the boards are reference design. but don't mix and match custom PCBs, like strix, frozr, G1, classified, kingpin, JetStream, phantom, pheonix, "end 2", iChill, iGame Ymir-X, arctic storm, matrix, HOF, AMP, iHOP, BMW, AT&T, or whatever the other billion custom 980 Ti boards are called

They will work together. As they are both reference 980 Ti's there will be no issue with SLI. The only difference is the fan upgrade.

This is the best answer you can possibly get :-)

All 980 ti's are able to be sli'd together, it doesn't matter if their reference, custom or from a different manufacturer.

EVGA 970's are the ones that you cannot mix...

There are no issues running these 2 different GTX 980 TI together in SLI. You can even run 2 from different manufacturers, though not recommended. As long as both cards have the same exact GPU/CUDA core count and memory capacity they will SLI. The ONLY exception is the gtx 970 which Sajin mentioned above.

Thanks!  Would you recommend I get the blower design or the acx for my second card?  I have hear the blower is better for sli since it exhausts out the back but since I already have an acx will that matter?  What would you recommend?  I do have a fare amount of fans in my corsair 760t case as well as a corsair 110gtx water cpu cooler.  Oh and do the sc or sc+ have the same pcb as the as the evga gtx980ti acx 2.0?  Would I be able to sli them, putting the sc or sc+ in the top position and the acx2.0 in the lower position?  Im assuming I would have to OC the slower card to match the sc+..
