Nope, it took 3hours I have monitored our advance the last days, and I wonder if many teams with just a few users started this challenge with huge bunkers. Anyways, we do a fantastic job here. Thanks to all who participate

I had a late start due to work and an older install of Lunatics, which didn't support the new v8 tasks. Also just added my Wife's laptop to the mix.

Did not know about bunkers I wish they would not have allowed it. Now I remember why I did not run this last year once I found out that they allowed it. I think our team should NOT run any EVENTS or Challenges as like they do not allow it on PrimeGrid. A race concept means to me everyone starts at the Start Line all at the same time. Anyway glad we are moving up the chain. We Hit the Front Page! bill1024 Moved up the list to 27. Will be front page news in a day or two.

It's tough because PrimeGrid challenges are run by the project, so they have control over which specific tasks count towards the contest. Any challenge not run by a project is using project stats exports for points, which does not allow you to count only tasks based on specific download times. Therefore bunkers happen.

Still I think it is bad to do and allow. They can do the same as PrimeGrid if they wanted to as they collected the data even before Seti does.

I'm against the bunkering concept. Although as planetclown said, I don't see any way they can avoid it.
Is running on Android worth it? My Nexus 10 is getting up in age and running CWG projects right now. My only concern is that the Seti tasks are really long running and I don't see the tablet completing very many.

How is that GTX 590 doing Time Wise? I still have some GTX 690's but they take to much Wattage to run and Trip my Power.

Bunkering is part of the game I guess. I am not crazy about it but it reminds me of a prayer. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change. The courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to out bunker them when I can.

I think so. Link is in the first post of this thread. The four steps to register are still there when I just checked. Try it out!

I feel bad - I have not crunched at all for this challenge. And I am the big cheerleader/cruncher. Question - Is anyone running an app_config mod on this? If so what are your settings. I will set this up to run this evening - I have a mod to increase the number of concurrent WUs. I will share once I have it dialed in.

No worries, we're always glad to have you on board robby! I had completely forgotten about the SETI optimized apps until ipkha mentioned them. So I've installed Lunatics optimized apps and have not modified them afterward. My 970 (core @1266MHz) runs one v8 (cuda50) task at a time with a turnaround of roughly 630 seconds. Not sure if I can do better by running more tasks concurrently - haven't tried yet.

cool - I am going to try this one; http://mikesworldnet.de/download.html the GPU for 64 bit from lunatics; Here is another one; I am adding this app_config info in the first post so that any whom come here will have easy access. This allows for 2 tasks to run on your GPU at a time. You can change the numbers to run more, but it is up to you to decide what maximizes your points on your hardware.: < app_config> <app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.3</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>setiathome_v7</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.3</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> < /app_config> rs

Well they have no GPU Tasks ATM, Bummer robbysites Glad you are looking into running some tasks, PS I only run GPU Tasks and on version 8. No version 7 for GPU are out anymore that is. I only get tasks through BOINC Client as well. Top config is for my AMD and the Bottom config is for my GTX 980 Cards <app_config> <app> <name>setiathome_v8</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config> <app_config> <app> <name>setiathome_v8</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config>
