I'm new to GPU watercooling, so please excuse the noob questions, but why wouldn't the GPU waterblocks fit on the Classifieds?

Because EVGA is using a large custom PCB for the Classified cards.

GTX760 4GB has more memory than GTX780 Classified :).

256bit bus GK104 that can't even fully utlizie the 4GB ram, and GPU processing power that will fall flat on its face before it even reaches 2.5GB of VRAM usage.

FlankerWang

A little disappoint about the clock set, no faster than Inno3D iChill, even not much faster than SC w/ACX.
/articles/00746/#3788

The Inno3D iChill's are just reference PCBs...not even in the same league as the Classified and Lightning cards.

Because the GTX 780 Classified has a custom PCB, so the WB has to be custom made to fit the Classified.

I think Clock is OK completely, I didn't expect at all over 1000.
And that was too high for warranty. I thought first to OC that card on 1000MHz but is almost 1000MHz default.
I only have no idea why they decide to put more VRAM on
760 Model.

Of course I know iChill & SC w/ACX use reference PCBs.
But in the past, Classifieds always had faster clock settings than cards w/reference PCBs.
So is this EVGA's new strategy? Set default clock a little lower, but give you more room for overclocking with custom PCBs? Or just because of Inno3D's crazy setting?

Its just a conservative number from EVGA.

Since we know the released time of the 780 gtx classified, and I recall Jacob mentioning that the 780 FTW would release at the same time. Would this still be the case now, so the 780 FTW would also be released sometime next week along with the 780 classified?

Pls excuse my ignorance...

Can someone explain what the power phases differences mean between the GTX 780 SC ACX and the Classified?

Also, why dual BIOS? What's the advantage?

Last, ++ power target?

Thanks in advance!

Power Phase, is where X is the number of Power Phases, where the power is split between X phases.  The more power phases the cleaner the power that's going to the GPU.  Meaning it'll be more continuous, cleaner, and stable.  So in turn it should be able to accept more stable power, which in turn should allow for higher overclocks..but we've seen this fail before...

Also, why dual BIOS? What's the advantage?

Two BIOS, Three or more BIOS on GPU allows the manufacture to program in different parameters and allow for different results without having to make two cards.  IE MSI N680 Lightning's had normal BIOS and LN2 BIOS.  The EVGA 680 Classified had three BIOS for Normal, Overclock, and LN2.  It also allows for extreme overclockers to load up one of the two or three BIOS with their own custom written BIOS and not brick the card as it has two BIOS for them to switch to if one indeed does become corrupt.  But again that's more for the out their OCers that want to push the cards to its max.

Last, ++ power target?

Are you asking for what is power target, or what is the GTX 780 Classified's power target set too?

All power target is just that.  If you have it set to 100% power target, that's what the GPU will pull if working at its max load, it will pull 100% of its power to do the job.  If you have it set higher it's just going pull more than its 100% allowed power.

Thanks in advance!

In red, hope that helps a bit.

BTW: I ordered a SC ACX last Friday, got it delivered on Suturday and Im very happy with it.

Running @1226MHz/3506MHz with +38mV offset and TempTarget @90°C. These clocks are furmark (!!) stable and the max temp I reached was 83°C.

Going for tri Classifieds or tri Lightnings or HD9970s.  And by August Lightnings should be out for sale, and the HD9970 should have some specs shown off.

I was looking through Evga_JacobF twitter feed and saw that he posted 2 hours ago that it would be 1-2 weeks more for 780 Classified. Last week he said it would be out this week. I hope that was just a mistype and not for real. Every week EVGA say next week. Its time EVGA stops messing with us and give us a firm date and if they can not please do not give any time window what so ever please.

I think I will just go with the ACX OC models, can reserve those for a very reasonable 649 euros on mycom.nl about 50 euros less than the others here in the nl.
