I know how you feel.......it's like everything is on hold until I get these things.
I have a question though. How fast will these sell out?

It's the worse feeling ever !!!!!!!!!
Well I guess it's just a matter of minutes and they will go out of stock and it'll just be F5ing hell

Right now it is looking like the first or second week of July.

So Jacob is the EVBot on the 780 Classified going to allow for upping the voltage or just the power target?

Apparently they don't care much about questions asked by consumers. ;)

Another week, another several days of breathless hoping, followed by silent and crushing resignation... Something tells me that the 4th of July week wouldn't be a good one for a product launch, though. If I were EVGA's marketing team, I'd be aiming for a time when they had all support crew on deck for a product launch, not skip a day.

But then again... It is only a day missed and I want my card! Ah, the speculation :P

So to bring us up to date about this issue here that I quoted, Jacob answered elsewhere.

sticks435

Here is the thread and post where Jacob said Classifieds will not get higher voltage, it was in an older thread about the 780 Hydro/Classified Hydro.

Dwensel2001

Million dollar question for Jacob:

From my understanding the board partners have some control how much over-voltage they allow on the 700 series cards. Will the hydro coppers or HC Classifieds be allowed higher voltage settings from the vanilla versions? Or are all EVGA cards set to allow the highest available voltage allowed per Nvidia? Could you provide any details in this area?

I bought a 680 Hydro Copper classified, and it is a beast! But was a little disappointed that many air cooled cards could match the performance in clock rates.

Thank you!

Voltage no, power target, yes to an extent. Depending on VRM/cooling solution.

But if the rumors are true about the EVGA 780 Classified, the EVBot only allowing for upping the power target is true...than forget it.

Not true.

Next week.

I guess that will be the release date. Does that mean availability of the Classified will take again 1 or 2 months for Europe (or even longer)? Just like the problem was with the GTX 780 SC ACX? Or can you confirm that this time you do have adequate stock / production to fullfil the need for these cards.

And can you give out some more details about the Classified? Would be nice instead of keeping us waiting.

Will the GTX780 Classified have a GPU-Link connector like on the X79 Dark motherboard? Will this be something like the GPU-Hotwire system ASUS uses?

You will have to buy an EVBot if you want overvolting under warranty. I assume these cards will launch at $750 ± $25

It'll probably cost $850. I'm just waiting for my 2nd stock 780 through step up so I can sli. My current 780 overclocks great on air and peaks @ 75° so I imagine the classified is gonna be beast. Possibly hitting 1.3Ghz? Cheers to whoever is lucky enough to snatch one at launch.

They wouldn't do $200 over retail. Especially since you don't gain any more VRAM or anything. The only thing you will get from the classified is a different pcb, more power phases, 2 8pins instead of an 8+6. Then the ability to overvolt through EVBOT

What do you mean by "overvolting under warranty?"  Using Precision X wouldn't be covered under warranty?  If we use EVBot and the board starts to get damaged, EVGA will cover it?

Sorry for the noob questions but if I want to overclock this thing, I want as much information as possible.

Overvolting via precision is covered by warranty. EVbot allows even more control. I was referring more instead of people doing hard mods or bios mods to get extra voltage out of it.

Re:Release date of GTX 780 Classified 2013/07/03 17:49:29 (permalink)
Hi CaxViper,

I was reffering to the GPU-Link connector and not the EV-Bot port.
The GPU-Link seems to be something completely new to EVGA products.

You can see it in the attachement next to the 24-Pin connector!
You can also find the picture on this page: http://eu.evga.com/articles/00758/#Academy

The X79 Dark Spec Sheet also mentions that 4 GPU-Link cables are supplied with the Dark: http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/150-SE-E789.pdf

I have no idea what the exact function of the GPU-Link is yet. No EVGA staff has replied to my question yet.
But it looks like it could have the same function as the ASUS GPU-Hotwire.

We will probably get to know what it is when the Classified launches.

Re:Release date of GTX 780 Classified 2013/07/04 01:36:23 (permalink)
What will cost 850$ GTX780 Classified.
I think CAxVIPER price is closer to reality.
200$ over SC model is too much. 759$ is real price.
With backplate!

I compare how really only EVGA models will look nice inside PC.
I always try to avoid heat pipes and for CPU cooler and it's excellent because on EVGA ACX models that is covered nicely inside and you see one modern card deserve to show in 2013.
Models of other brands are somehow overcome.
OK blowing air out of PC is good but I will not have problem with one card and I'm ready to sacrifice that for dual cooler design.
People write how ASUS basic model is very hot and noise and they play on 85C now. What will happen for 2 years when card start to work harder or if you think to OC I don't want to even think on that.
ACX is more secure this time than stock.
I have H100 black nice no pipes, flat area of 780 Classified... excellent

It just sucks that no one else is going to make a block for the 780 Classified.  I would take AquaComputer, Watercool, and EK (in that order) over the Swiftech Komodo block.

A little disappoint about the clock setting, no faster than Inno3D iChill, even not much faster than SC w/ACX.  Perhaps HC Classified will be a little faster, just like iChill Accelero Hybrid.
