MvdL79 ... So it really doesn't matter which ones come first,
... are waterblocks going to be available for the 780 Lightning cards ?
Well to be honest I would prefer the Classifieds over the Lightning's, because I am guessing they will look "ugly" (= personal taste). Given the past Lightning models. In regards to waterblocks; I really have no clue. I am not watercooling my videocards, so I cannot answer that. However probably they will become available (third party) as soon as the cards are released.

I just contacted the company I ordered my Classified from and they said it was supposed to get here this week. But EVGA had changed the delivery date in the end of last week because they didnt have enough cards :( So no Classified cards in Scandinavia before September. They thought they would have MSI Lighthing before Classified so I ordered that one also, as u did :)

I'll be camping this week for the Classified, but I guarantee you I'll miss the window by being away from the computer to either eat or go to the bathroom (screw showers!) Not sure how the production of the card is going to run as I read somewhere they literally just finished the fans design and mounted it to the card so not sure how the availability of the card is going to be with the fans just getting finished last week, and the rumored street date being 8/7

Same here, but after waiting for these to be in stock since last week, the ACX SC version went out of stock a couple times. I just ordered the acx/sc, as in thinking this over, the Classified does not fit me, anyway...lol I don't oc over the factory oc(I don't wish for rma issues..and personally I know nothing about evbot or upping the voltage or folding. I'm clueless in what folding is? ..lol. I'm not changing the bios for sure as well). So the only thing i'd gain is the factory oc some 30Mz more, and I've read how sometime a lesser clocked card can have a higher asic?, so it's all 'silcon lottery' anyway, right? I saved some $35-$40, and I wanted to keep the cost to under $700 w/shipping. I had the Titan sc but for $1030..the extra 3GB of Vram on one 1080p monitor was just overkill, vRam wise. And the $300 savings helps. (for me anyway) This was a really nasty yr to upgrade, the Titan is priced way too high, the classified 780's are not my thing(and I don't wish to use two 8 pin's if I don't have a need to do so)..heck, even the Classified 770 4GB uses two 8 pins. The 2GB 770 acx is a bit of a ? vRam wise. (3GB seems like a sweet spot for one 1080p monitor) And I upgrade every yr anyway.(single gpu..usually $500 or so). I was about to pull the trigger on the acx sc last week, but I didn't realize the classified was really for oc'ers, and that's not my thing. There in stock now at Newegg..right now, just to inform you. Good Luck getting the Classified..or acx sc. Just don't wait forever..lol.

Yeah I've been seeing them in stock all day, though the price keeps erroring from time to time. Sometimes it's 669 and other times (like now) it states 743 lol I believe there will be a nice bit of stock in the next two weeks, especially if they're sending them to other countries now as well.

I don't know if this is an option for you but I got the notification email as well as completed the transaction all on my phone at work, in my car. Not sure what your cell plan is but of you can, change the setting to have the server push you the email so you get it almost instantly.

Just to make you feel better about your purchase, I owned both the SC ACX and now the Classified. The only reason I upgraded to the Classified is because I got the notification email right away on my phone and completed the transaction surprisingly, figuring correctly I'd get back what I paid reselling the SCs (minus the shipping and selling fees, which I didn't mind, considering the gain). If you're not into overclocking, the SC is more than enough, especially on a single display. On three, the most VRAM I've used is in the 2.8 Gig range, just once that I saw, mostly being in the 2.6 range. You can safely disregard the advertised boost clock and count on somewhere around 1100MHz, maybe more if you boost power target to maximum, all WITHOUT any clock offset. Hope this helps.

Classified still not in EVGA's European shop. So probably their resellers will not have the Classifieds also on short notice.
I think these "delays" will result in people buying "regular" (SC) ACX versions or MSI's Lightning (if that's get released earlier). I think EVGA didn't think this over all to well. Release date should also mean available. Oh well. Still have time before the Lightnings are being released. Maybe the Classified will be struck by Lightning? :P

So according to Jacob on twitter the cards wont be here until next week. This jerking us around is really not doing them great on the PR department. They are probably going to lose a lot of business to MSI once the lightning hits.

Yeah I read the same. What is more worrysome is that you had to read it on Twitter instead of here on the EVGA forums. Seems these forums are useless in regards to product status and availability. Sigh.

At the current production rate and availability it will take several months before new Classifieds will be in stock in general. So no worries. You will be safe to save your cash for a 2nd Classified. Probably by the time you have saved enough money the cards will finally be in stock once again. Or only one can hope so...

You are welcome. On a more serious note; I don't think they will become EOL (End-of-Life) soon. The GTX 680 Classified was also very long available. So I wouldn't worry about availability. Heck, maybe in two or three months the prices will be lower as well?

GTX 780 Classified Availibility
2013/07/28 14:12:15

Can any moderator or other person working at EVGA answer any questions about the 780 Classified availability? I understand that EVGA has a very limited supply of them, and would prefer to wait until they have enough for everyone to get one, but why does EVGA have such a limited supply? When can we expect to see them on the EVGA and other retailers' Website? Any answers are appreciated

Yeah. EVGAs stock on EVERYTHING seems to be extremely limited. I haven't seen any TITANs in weeks. (Besides for a couple times where there have been one or two HC Signatures). And it's not just the Classified, but ALL the 780s have been on very limited stock. (After what, 3 months since release?) EDIT: As of RIGHT NOW, EVGA has 3 CARD MODELS in stock out of ALL 27 of their 700+TITAN series: 04G-P4-3777-KR (770 Classified Blower) 04G-P4-3778-KR (770 Classified ACX) 02G-P4-2774-KR (770 SC ACX) That means they have 11% of their cards in stock. I think the cards with constant availability are the 770 Classified models. I haven't seen them gone since a week after release.
