What do you guys use for an Anti-Virus program? Other than Windows defender.
Personally... I just like having the protection.
I'm looking for the following... It can be free or paid, It doesn't matter, I was considering the $30/Yr Kapsersky.
-Cost is of no concern (As long as its not like $100 a year)
-Not too much impedance on the system, causes the least amount of software compatibility issues
-Not EXTREMELY taxing or demanding on the system (I have a good system but still)
-Good at catching all the Malware, Spyware, Viruses, etc
-Preferably including browser protection
I'm using 360 Total Security right now, Ive heard there's better...

Been using BitDefender for the past 5 years. Have had nothing I can really complain about to much other than their Autopilot feature which tends to stay in game mode when I'm not in a game. So I don't bother with it.

I use Malwarebytes (premium - like $30 a year I think) and Avast (free version). Malwarebytes premium has a web-scanner so if you click a blacklisted site (one known for viruses or it detects as having a virus) it will block you from sending/receiving packets to it and instead redirect you to a malwarebytes error page. Same thing if you open a malicious program/service. Not to mention their hyperscan completes in a VERY short amount of time depending on your PC and files you have as a quick run-through before doing an in-depth scan. Example:  As for Avast, it also has a web-scanner but for me it usually detects malicious javascript (js) files embedded in websites (even if the website seems like it'd be legit). I mainly use it for the "boot-time scan" where it essentially boots in safemode without networking and scans your system so the ONLY thing running is the display and Avast. Good for finding viruses that like to hide themselves or download copies of itself.

I use / recommend Kaspersky or Webroot to most people I know along with MalwareBytes. Webroot has basically 0 performance impact on the computer. Both of them can be had very cheap on a sale from Slickdeals. I usually get a 3 machine 1 year for about $10. Norton just brought back their "basic" antivirus without all the extra bloat in it - I would give that a look too.
I stay away from the free stuff anymore. From what I have seen there's so many popups and nags to buy the software it's almost as bad as a virus itself! There's tweaks and ways to quiet it down but it's worth $10/year for me to not deal with it.

I've been a bit weary of the free ones as well, i've heard they steal user data or they have extremely annoying popups that pop up every single day bugging you to buy something.
I've posted on a few forums and the answers are so mixed, its almost like trying to choose a motherboard again...
Originally I was going to just go with Kapsersky, but i've heard they're a bit demanding and can have software incompatibility issues.
Honestly my main concern here is software incompatibility, the thing I hate to do the most is troubleshooting software problems.
Most places are saying Avast... but general consensus is that Malwarebytes is a good one. But isn't malwarebytes more something that supplements your anti-virus and not really exactly something thats good enough standalone?
I think I remember using Avast a long time ago... don't remember its performance but I think I got rid of it because it kept having annoying popups.

Once a month I scan my computer using a boot disc with like 10 anti-virus programs. Never come up with anything. Makes me feel like all anti-virus programs dont catch anything because i still get browser redirects on certain websites. Maybe thats the websites, but it still gets on my nerves when you get an unclosable window and you need to end task.

These work fine together Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit - free version, Norton Security Suite -- all run on my system all the time with no issue I do not always have SuperAntiSpyware - free running, just up to date signature files, but have scanned with the others running without issue

I've been using ESET smart security since iteration 4 I think they are up to 10 now can not even tell its running, hasn't caused any game or programs compatibility issues yet.

I don't run any antivirus. I do scan my pc once every like 6 months with malwarebytes. I just scanned it today with malwarebytes & bitdefender and nothing was found.

I use Norton Security. However, I've heard ESET and BitDefender are good too. Check out the reviews.
I also recommend running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium.

I know lots of people just run without a anti-virus and just use windows defender, everyone says its enough, but personally I just feel like I want the extra level of protection.
I don't go onto extremely sketchy sites regularly, or pirating things or watching "inappropriate" videos.
That's why i'm just looking for something that's low impact, wont cause incompatibility issues and gives me a bit more protection.
Right now im considering Bitdefender and Malwarebytes

Since you got BitDefender, don't ever renew as it's more expensive that way. You can get the new iteration cheaper by not renewing and buying the new version.

I used bitdefender for years but didn't work good on windows10 but sure it does now they probably got it fixed been using Norton 360 for awhile now it's top notch and eset is to been putting it on relatives computers they have had no viruses and was getting them a lot working me to death lol

I run noscript. noads in Firefox, Chrome depending on what ur allowed to install ATM. And just safe surfing doesnt cut it anymore in a ad/traking crap we now deal with. Wish our ISP's would offer a no ad/no script option before it even get to ur home or business, Id gladly pay $20 more a month for said service..... Getting to the point of running my Browser in a VM/Ramdrive..... IMOO, Ads and trackers should be paying us for such intolerance's...............................

Have never had any problems with Bitdefender + occasional Malwarebytes. Just be smart about where you go on the web. Legitimate websites will always have a locked symbol in the address bar or it will start with https.

I use Norton Security. Also Malwarebytes. I actually lost my Malwarebytes key ages ago, but just found it a couple of days ago - it's the Pro license with no expiry date - happy to find that again as they don't offer unlimited subscriptions anymore.

My option is SpyHunter. I know that it has been known as an unwelcome program but actually it is really useful for me. At that time my PC had a malware that Malwarebytes cannot detect so I tried instead. It has no ads and does not slow down my system. It costs about $40 and I think it is acceptable. Never try, never know.

Kaspersky is really, really good but will run you $50 a year. If it's mission critical this would be my only choice.

i use Windows defender i have no need for anything else but if you use avast or anything else windows defender does disable but windows 10 the most current version has a option to run defender side by side but on a sparse basis in case the other AV programs fail windows defender auto kicks in or something . tho i have not tested this

I used Avast Internet Security and Mbam premium up until 2 months ago.
Mbam started having some major memory leaks on all of my systems, so I ditched that, their support was 0 help.
And I switched to AVG Internet Security for the next 2 years at least as I scored the unlimited license version for $2.95.
I honestly will probably go back to Avast after that expires.
I still do standalone scans with mbam portable to make sure AVG is doing its job OK.
