Whats the best Blu-ray movie currently available in terms of sound and picture? Just got myself a new monitor and want to try it out in all its glory. No particular genre favoured, however, I do like a good action film

Avatar, Lord of the Rings (reasons already noted), Iron Man (gives sound systems a little work out, decent movie, lots of explosions)

Band of Brothers is amazing...another great one for you to get is Blade Runner.
Even though it's from '82, it truly transferred incredibly to Blu Ray.

Are those gonna be the Extended Editions? I'm so sick of being suckered by these studios who release Theatrical Release Blu Rays only to come out with the Extended not long after.
