So on my P55 board I can select "Device advanced settings" to enable seperate audio streams for front and rear outputs (see below).  My brother's 750i board uses the same drivers but the option isn't there.  Is this a limitation of the nforce drivers or am I missing something?

different specific chipsets / oses / driver versions, lots of variables there to explain why the options are present in one case and not in another.

so, if you're both running w7, and using the same driver version, it comes down to chip versions/revisions.

if none of this is the same, it could be any of the three.

    cheers.

The only difference is the codec.  Mine is ALC889 and his is ALC888s.  However, 888s is supposed to allow independent stereo channels for front and rear outputs as well.  I guess I'll have to look harder for an option somewhere to enable it.

Edit: When I get home I'm going to try setting the front panel output as a speaker channel rather than the default headphone channel and see if that works.  I have a good feeling that this will work.
