Hello,

I am currently in the process of RMA'ing my EVGA 560Ti card to EVGA europe. However, something has just occurred to me. Are RMA replacements always new products or are they used/refurbished?

Thanks,

Odai.

RMA replacements are fully tested recertified products. If an RMA needs to be done within 30 days of the original purchase date, it's a new, in box product, but otherwise it's a fully tested, recertified product.

    Hello,

Thanks for your response. So can you confirm that new products never get sent out as RMA replacements? I tried asking support by email and the answer I got was that nothing could be confirmed until the replacement was ready for shipping.

If what you say is the case, then I'd probably be better off cancelling the RMA and trying to return the card to my retailer. In this case, do you know if I can get my collateral payment fully refunded?

The EAR collateral has been refunded. It is possible that a new product be sent as a replacement depending on inventory levels. Generally, if within 30 days of the purchase it will be a new replacement, otherwise it will be a recertified replacement. Both continue on the warranty of the original product.

Cancelled the RMA last night to be safe, and got a response from EVGA and refund notice from Paypal very quickly.

I would like to simply have the RMA dealt with by EVGA (not least because of the advance RMA service) but I'd prefer a new product, as opposed to refurbished. Seems the only way I could guarantee this is to go to the retailer (who would swap it for a new one).

    Thanks,

    Odai.

How long ago did you purchase it?  I'm assuming within the 30 days?  If so I would also just send it back to the retailer for a replacement.

Exactly, if it is eligible for a refund from the retailer it seems you should be able to get a brand new replacement from them.

    Hey,

I will be making the trip down to the retailer today to (hopefully) get it swapped. In the UK, you can get a refund within 28 days, but I've had this card almost a year.

The issue with the card is instability. Sometimes get artifacts in games, and occassionally, when the card idles, I get a driver crash and reset.

Who did you buy it from, i am guessing Scan or Overclockers.

    Yup, Scan.

Hmm, they do have the best prices and have a+ service when it comes to dispatching items but their RMA service sucks buddy. In fact recently my Brothers CPU went back for RMA and never came back for 14 days.

Personally I would go refurbished. I just RMA'd my first EVGA card and i say the refurb is better than the new..
