Just coming back to this for a quick update.... The lives my son saved have had a significant impact. We have been asked to allow our Son to be mentioned in a documentary for the Donor Network here in the US. This basically means that his story, and the story of the lives he has saved/helped will become public and hopefully save even more lives! It brings some serious tears to my eyes from our loss as I type this, as much as this does in his abilities or potential abilities to touch others even after his death... Just felt it was the right thing to do, to let all of you know that after all of the support you gave us during this hard time...

glad he will live on in a way, before when i had a learners permit i didn't bother with organ donor, when i got my ID i ended up adding it, i think the loss of your son and the lives he saved helped make that decision easy.

Amazing how much good can be done even after we have gone...just imagine if everyone did just one little good deed a day, how much better this world would be. You and your family are back in my prayers and I hope this bit of news helps to bring you all closer to healing.

I am sorry for your lose. I to know how it feels to lose some one I lost my Grandfather this week. Again my prayers are out to you and your family. Remember your son left a trail for every one. Every one he touched either made a difference or will make a difference in this world.

Were it welcome, I would offer a virtual hug, man...Even though this is late, I'm so very sorry to read of your loss. My Father passed May 6, 2009, at 6:10am and I was in the room with him....it's indelibly etched on my mind.....Every year at 6:10 am (admittedly not many, yet) on May 6th, I think of and raise a toast to the old man. I hope my Dad and your son are playing cards or fishing together .....

Thanks everyone... I remembered today as being the Anniversary of those lost on the Challenger... And frankly felt compelled to post in this thread for our own loss.
You never really know what this is like until you experience it for yourself, and there is no comfort to be offered. We struggle to this day with our loss. We still get angry, we still have regrets. We still think of things he will never experience. Yet with it all...
We will never forget, and cannot express in words how grateful we are for the time we did have with him.

I knew of your loss AB but not of how and as importantly the why. I knew it hit you hard as well as the entire family both yours and ours here at this little forum we so love.
You can tell from the writings that you are well thought of and there is truly a whole cast of characters that care enough to try to help you through a time of need.
Although this happened three years ago the pain will always be there. The love will never end. This you know as does anyone ever put in such an unfortunate situation.
Peace be upon you and your family on this time of recall. Things happen they say for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason is but I do like to think there is reasoning behind what seems to be madness.
Know well AB that you are thought well of as is your family. That is more than many can say. I can however, on my behalf say thank you for all you have done, all you will continue to do and all this family will do for each other. If ever you need something my door is always open.

Holy ****! I am not a father nor have I ever thought of being that great of a role model. For me it's extremely difficult to empathize with your loss, as I can't even imagine the pain that you're in.
