Just wanted to thank you all for your kind words. Yes this time is beyond expression. We hear noises and think he is home, see things that he was in the middle of working on (seems like yesterday). We are beyond shocked, mad and saddened. To young, to soon.... That said I did want to post a final post in the way of sadness, because we do need to take our own next step. All we ask is that this experience finds a way to reach you in a positive fashion and helps you cherish what you have even the maddening times of your life. Because in a blink of an eye, it is over.... This thread has helped us more than you know. Thank you... And each day that goes by does NOT get any easier. Things are remembered and items need done. I hope sometime this week I will get the strength to not feel guilty as I still do, and actually try the Eyefinity that is sitting on my desk and BFBC2..... Now to the more positive things from this.... We had been notified yesterday, that Our Son SAVED (Not helped but saved) three lives because he was an organ donor!!!!! They called us and told us the legal, medical time frame had passed, and that our Son's donations saved these three folks.... WOW! Makes you think does it not! Also, a father son hobby we had been developing was Weapon knowledge and all that goes along with it. Well today in tribute to Our Son I purchased a pistol we have had our Eyes on but was a bit to rich for our blood. A Sig Sauer P239 40S&W.... Man what a beautiful instrument! Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes. They do help...

AB, I'm glad to hear that your son was able to bestow some legacy of himself, even after he'd left this world. Our wishes stay with you and your family, and I hope this good news can help ease some of your grief.

AB you have a strong heart. Sometimes as much as we have to try to find the positive, it is just very hard, and it is good to see some positive light in this sad situation. It is a wonderful thing that he saved those three people. As has been said, you and your family and your son are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep fighting, and when you need us we are here.

Almost lost 2 of my kids on separate occasions. Very traumatic. Can't imagine your pain. Toughest thing for any parent but consolation that someone else's loved one is alive due to your son. Few things in life we can do more than save another. God Bless.

I am going to tell you a story. I dont want to shift focus away from your tragedy in any way. I hope this helps. On July 7, 2002 I was bumming around in my brother in-laws studio apartment while he was at work. I was a bum at the time unemployed sleeping on couches. At 11:58pm I was on his pullout fading into and out of consciousness when I heard the roaring rush of water outside. I went to the door and looked out into a maddening downpour. In Oregon we are known for rain but in the middle of summer this was not normal. I stepped out in to the covered walkway and noticed the nearby archway was streaming with water, not a mere trickle, but a flood the likes of which I had never, and never have since seen. I made my way to inside the arch standing a good 3 to 4 feet from the opening not wanting to get splashed. this was a phenomenal event I cannot put to words a true aberrant occurrence of nature. I stood there in awe and then this torrent turned inward reaching the full 4 feet of walkway and soaking me head to toe, the rain then stopped. Not one more drop fell. I emerged from the archway to stare at a cloudless sky. the water had been warm and I felt a warmth flow into me I cannot explain. I thought to my self "wait till I tell mom about this. My mother and I would occasionally go to Sherie's for coffee and smokes to make amends for all the time we spent hating each other during my teenage years. During these times talk would often turn to my love of strange weather phenomenon and man did I have a story for next week. I went upstairs to my sisters apartment (they were on their anniversary at the coast) and went to sleep. At 4am I was woken by a neighbor, Lyle, yelling for me to come out side. Lyle was a big dude and a practitioner of ninja. I didnt know why but I knew I was going to get my a** kicked. I really had no idea how badly. I stepped out and My sisters dads wife (long story but not my dad) and manager of the apartments was waiting for me. I knew right then someone had died. I was brought in and set down and told that at exactly 11:58 pm July 7, 2002 my mom while driving home from the bar lost control of her car and hit a tree killing her instantly. I thought immediately of the downpour I experienced at exactly 11:58 PM and my strange soaking. My mother, the only person that knew the depth of my fascination with weather phenomenon died at the exact moment I experienced the single most incredible weather moment of my life. I knew then that feeling of embrace had been her, letting me know it was going to be ok. I have no children and cannot understand the loss of a child. I can tell you he is not gone, not lost. He is in our heart and in your memory. I dont know what is in store for us after life but I do wholeheartedly believe there is something after life. I wish you the warmth of sunny days and the love of family in your time of grief. I will you strength in your time of loss. If this post is in any way an affront to you, or for any reason you wish me to edit or remove it please PM me and I will do so with my greatest apologies and all speed. I am overwhelmed and I dont know what to say. I hope what I did say can help in some small way. you have my greatest condolences.

I'm happy to hear that even in your son's departure he could leave in his wake the new found life of 3 other people in need. May flights of angels carry him to his final sleep. Rest in peace.

This is really amazing... to hear that your son's death wasn't in vain AB. To find out that his organs were able to save not 1, not 2, but 3 people, that is an extraordinary gesture. Just like you AB, you are always helping someone in need and making a difference in this community. If you hear noises(s) and think its your son, dont ignore it dude.....embrace it and talk to him. There is always a connection between parents and their children on this life or the next. God Speed!
Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Wow, sad stories like this make me realize why my parents worried so much when i went out. And probably still do. Ultimately, we just have to live each day to the fullest and remember not to hold any resentment towards anyone and to live as happy and peaceful lives as we can. Live every day as if it were your or everyone you know's last. I'm sorry to hear about your son AB.

Afterburner, my friend, as much as I'm saddened by your loss, this recent news lightened my heart. You should be proud of your son and I'm sure you are. Think about it, how many people just pass by without leaving a mark, without making a difference, without touching the heart of somebody else? Your son touched the lives not only of those three people but also of their families and their loved ones. How precious! I believe each of is born with a destiny and how happy that God had such a beautiful one in reserve for your son! May him rest in peace. Take care my friend and hold on to each other with your wife...

AB.....your son was/is and forever will be remembered as a Hero. All I can say is his memory will live on in your heart and the hearts of all the people he touched. The event was horrible but to find out how many people he saved, showed not only a miracle, but that your son had a giant heart, there was a reason all of this happened and it is sad now and extremely upsetting but you have to get through it and remember your son for the good and great things he did, and that he is without a doubt....a HERO.

Afterburner, I know I don't really know you well , but I was wondering if I had your permission to do something. I wrote an entire band score for the main theme to Morrowind :Nerevar Rising and I was wondering if I could dedicate it to your son when my school plays it. The Nerevar which is who you play as in the main storyline, is someone who was sent to Morrowind to cast down the false gods and bring balance and peace to the world, to save lives and cast away the evil. If you don't mind me doing this I would definitely do it, and try my best to get you a recording of the song in our concert. If you don't want me to PLEASE let me know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWuNf4gxwuM That is a recording of the original.
