When I boot up my z170 Classy K Mobo, I get 6 quick beeps, followed by a different tone beep and then it boots up (Win 10) normally from the installed Samsung 950 M.2 SSD. The closest I can find online anywhere (since there's not much documented in the manual) is what looks like a keyboard component error but I can't tell for sure. I'm using a Logitech wireless USB dongle kb & mouse. Could the beeps be coming from the POST looking for something attached directly, not finding it, alerting about it and then booting up to find the wireless units just fine? I just want to make sure I'm not ignoring something that is more serious than I'm giving it credit for... Thanks in advance for any/all help!

Welcome to the forums chuckhawks Found this for you Linkhttp://forums.evga.com/How-many-beeps-at-post-should-happen-m2521102.aspx EVGATech_JoseR So far, with the newer boards, you can expect 3+ rapid beeps at POST before BIOS hands off system operations to the OS. The debug LED will cycle through some codes and then if it posts without any issues it will display the CPU temperature.
mike406 The more peripherals you have connected the more beeps you'll hear. The beeping just means it's initializing everything. Low pitched slow beeps are what you don't want to hear.
If you are not seeing any post codes, I would not worry Manual page 32 LINKhttp://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/142-SS-E178.pdf POST Codes This section provides the AMI POST Codes for the EVGA Z170 motherboard during system boot up. The POST Codes are displayed on the Debug LED readout located directly onboard the motherboard. This Debug LED will also display current CPU temperatures after the system has fully booted into the Operating System.
