Just what it says... Whenever my 980 picks up a Core15, something in my computer starts making high-pitched, electronic-y, sounds... almost like the old dial-up connection and it's freaking me out. And it's only on Core15 units... Anyone else experience anything of the sorts?!?

Let them run it make get better after you run a few.
Kind of like breaking them in so to say.
Core 15 Take almost 2 time the Power and run hotter then Core 17 P9201.
I have 2 Cards and when they do get a pair of Core 15 they run at 280 Watts
When I get a pair of Core 17 P9201 the power usage is only 180 Watts.

Coil whine, I hear it's all the rage with Core 15's.  Eventually it might go away.

I see... Yes, coil whine is exactly what it sounds like. So is that from the GPU or the PSU then? I just popped open the CPUID HW Monitor and the card is at a comfy 69C so it isn't all that hot, if I recall correctly, those are the temps I get on a Core17 unit as well.

My gtx980 did the exact same thing. Coil whine is not harmful, its just a little annoying. For me the coil whine did better over time.

The coil whine is indeed very annoying. I've noticed that I pick up a core15 right after a completed WU that's been a core17. However, if I pause FAH after the completed core17, exit completely then load it up again, it picks up another core17. Every single time. Not sure what's up with that... I don't have the time to monitor FAH every 3 hours and it is getting annoying. Are there any flags I can use to ensure I pick up no core15s? Currently I'm running 'advanced', maybe give 'beta' a shot? I don't know...
