So I recommended an EVGA PSU to a customer of mine for his build. I didn't specify to get a G1, G2 or P2, so he snatched up the first one he came across and ended up getting a G1. Problem lays with when he ordered his sleeved cables, they do not fit a G1 and EVGA does not offer a kit for the G1. All cables fit and work properly with the exception of the motherboard 24 pin connector on the PSU side. Instead of having the G2/P2 18 +10 connector design that the cables are meant for, the G1 has the 24+4 pin connection. What I would like to know is, could I simply change out the connectors for the proper configuration so he could have a full sleeved kit. To me it seems to be as easy as tracing the wire to the connection pins and just swapping the connector out. Other than the common risks involved with such a procedure, is there anything that I should be aware of?

The pinouts are different as far as I know from FSP Aurum to Superflower Leadex. So even the cables that seem to fit are a big risk. I would find a pinouts diagram for every connector and confirm first since you seem to be aware of this.

I'm always feel bad when someone is in such situation.
You should check on site clearly say G2/P2 Power Supply Cable Set.
Is it possible to replace PSU, to back if you didn't open?
G2 is completely other and better platform with different 10 years warranty from SF and Sleeve cables are design for their models.

The ones that fit no problem are the VGA, CPU, SATA and PERIF cables. The pin outs are correct. They are installed and working flawlessly atm. Just need to modify the motherboard cable. On the motherboard side it will always be the same. The only side I am concerned about is the PSU side.

He is in a bit of a different situation. According to him, he called EVGA and told them what PSU he ordered and had them send him the correct wires for his PSU. They sent these. When he found out that they looked different, he called again and found out that there were no cables offered for his. EVGA did offer a full refund for his cables, but he really wanted to use them or sleeve the current ones that came with the G1.

It is already opened and working in his rig. I agree. The G2 is a much better platform. In my opinion, EVGA should stop selling the G1 as a current product. It can be very confusing to people that aren't really paying attention or really knowing what to look for.

I guess the big question is: Can someone from EVGA tell me the proper pin out of the 24+4 on the PSU for the G1 PSU? I can trace the wires out 1 by 1, but I would love to just have this cable ready to go when I get there.

Maybe should not stop to sell G1, but to remove G1 sign completely.
You should tell him to use as yours 1000P2 or with sleeved cables if your work OK and if you are satisfied.
These EVGA/SF models are now most wanted power supplies among enthusiast and gamers.
Even SF rating jump on place where EVGA is not present and people decide over Seasonic and CM more for Super Flower.

I'm really sorry. I don't know answer, I never do something like that. I mean use wire designed form one PSU on other.
I think that's not recommended but maybe if someone know and think different It would be nice to help.

Wires are wires. As long as they meet the voltage rating recommended by EVGA( Which I would think that the G2 wires would meet those ratings) the wires themselves are fine. The only thing I am asking is the pin out for the motherboard connection on the PSU side. This would be the same request if someone was sleeving the cables for the G1 it's self.

I looked around for a bit, when I seen your thread. So far all I can find is G2. I don't give up easy, but that doesn't currently help you. I was hoping an EVGA tech would comment, as they are pretty active in forums. I'll post if I do find something, sorry.

Thanks. I figure at this point it will be some time next week when someone from EVGA will reply due to labor day.

I tried to submit a support ticket, but you have to have the product registered in order to submit one. Since I don't own the product and am only trying to help the guy that does, I don't have it registered.

Thank you. I did find that earlier and was looking at the pin out on the sleeved cable that my customer got from EVGA vs the diagram posted here and it is off by quite a bit. As far as the voltages and grounds are, it is ok. But the pins are not the same on the cable I have in my possession. Quite interesting. I just hope someone from EVGA lets me know something soon.

Here you can check and ask, but I think only cover G2 units and you need for G1.
Very small number of people even ask for G1 near G2 quality and compatible Single Sleeve Set

The G2 isn't a problem. It is just the 24+4 pin out for the G1 that is the issue.

I'm sorry this has gone unanswered for so long. We do try to monitor the forums, but it's not a primary way of support. You can always email any kind of question to support@evga.com and we'll be happy to answer them.

I've forwarded this to Product Management to see if we can provide the pinout for the 24 pin connector for you. Once I hear back I'll let you know.
