I wasn't really sure where to post this, I apologize if this is not the correct place.
I recently had to RMA a GTX 660 (02G-P4-2660-KR). I got an email today saying that a replacement has been shipped, and according to the EVGA website the replacement is a GTX 960 SSC (02G-P4-2966-KR). That seems to me to be an upgrade, and a pretty decent one too. So thanks EVGA for that.
My question though: My GTX 660 required a 6 pin power connector, and the GTX 960 SSC seems to require an 8 pin connector. My PSU only has one 6 pin connector. Would it be
OKAY to use my old 2x 4 pin molex to 6 pin adapter and then run that along with my 6 pin connector to the 2X 6 pin to 8 pin adapter to power the card, even if only temporarily until I can afford a new PSU?
My current PSU:
Antec VP450
