The max is 10. It breaks down to 5 for 750,000 and another 5 if you reach 1.5m. The max per calendar year is $120

So if I get 1.5 million do I still need to fold rest of the month to earn or does it matter?

No like rlb said, once you earn them after the threshold that's it. Then all you do is go to "my folding "page to claim them each month. Once they are given to you ,you can see them at the bottom of your profile. The donor decides to keep folding or just stop when the buck are earned.
More work is done if you continue, but so does the electric bill. There is nothing that says you have to fold after the threshold is met.

They are worth the effort, one of my 980's came from EVGA bucks. ;)

Same here, well mine was a 970 that stepped up to a 980. That and helping the science. :)
